The first thing I would do (and what I am currently doing) is take a look at which photographers your venue suggests. Remember you will def. need to feed your photographers so usually your venue will either give you 1/2 off or totally free on the house vendors meals. My sister used Patken and I am going to look into Marco (mainly b/c they are my venues house vendors). Good Luck!

Re: PHOTOGRAPHER HELP

I think the first thing you need to decide is what 'style' photography you like. Do you like photojournalistic (candids) or more traditional? These are some of the ones I met with and had great pics and packages:

Dan Wagner
Shira Z
Imagine Studios
Modern Wedding Photography

FM me if you want more info. HTH. Good luck!

I am using Ariana Studios at The Wedding Plaza in Floral Park. I loved their work and they are very reasonable.

Velvet is our photog and Bob is great. We met with Time XPressions and he was great as well, VERY nice albums. Artisan was also very good and Chuck was very easy to get along with. They were all similar pricing. Some had 2 photogs and others had 1 photog and a lighting assistant.

Angelica glass, Henry Chan, blue daisy, something in blue

all are photojournalistic photographers. Work for themselves so that is the style of the pics

I am using Sherwood Triart, but my close second runner up was Thomas Paul. He's great and so are his packages. Sherwood is amazing, but they are a little pricier than TP.

It's easier to start looking once you know what your budget is. I LOVED Blue Daisy, but she was too far out of my budget.
