Re: thomas paul or dan wagner... help me choose!

Okay sweetie...I have no experiece with either...so my opinion may mean poop to you. They both have beautiful work and catch amazing moments....but from what I've seen on this sight, I think I am a big fan of Dan Wagners. His stuff seems to captivate me just a little more...okay thats my two cents

thanks for the opinons I've been FMing with dleeny, she's absolutely glowing about him. I definitely would feel confident choosing him, I'm just not sure if I prefer him over Thomas Paul.

I met with Dan and I really liked his work! I liked how he didn't do as many weddings a year as other photographers, and I also liked how he does other things besides weddings. His attitude was very laid back too, which apprealed to me. The only reason I did not book him was because he didn't have a videographer (even though he is associated with one)... Good luck!

Well I have to say - I'm actually kind of biased - however, for Thomas Paul Photo, Tom is actually my cousin. I think he takes great pictures and we were considering using him for our wedding as well. He is a sweet man and I think he'd do a great job!

Is Tom really your cousin? That's so funny! Small world, huh?

Well, you're in luck... we're really starting to lean towards Tom. Dan does a fantastic job, but we just feel like Tom offers more for the money and has a slightly different eye in his photos that we like. We also like the option he offers for a second photographer.

Still mulling things over... I'm hoping to get some references from him to call just to ease my mind.

Yeah- he really is my cousin! It is a small world. He does have a very different eye for capturing the moment. He actually just got married last July, so he's got some experience in that department as well! Lol.

We have also looked at Spelman and Perceptions, neither of which really felt right to us. They are both more big studios, we like the idea of a out-of-the-home kind of a business, it feels more personal.

With Thomas Paul you get, for about the same price, an engagement shoot with the pictures in an album and a mini album, 150 photo thank you cards, and for a little more money he has the option for a second photographer.

I think we've got our minds made up... we're going to splurge a little and go for Thomas Paul with the second photographer. It's a little more than we'd planned on paying, but we both feel like the photography is worth it, because it's the one thing you get to take home with you at the end of the day.
