ok so i saw this photographer recommended by surf club Lidian and Ivan fotogenic in astoria queens. she is excellent. however i want to compare. I hear great things about velvet, Golden Moments, patken, 12th night, angelica glass, there is another one that i cant think of now ummm etc... i only want to see like 3 of them i cant be going to all of them lol. any oppinions would help. oh i like photojournalistic style and i want film not digital!! umm price, i wouldn't spend more than 7k. just to give u more info.

Check out Perceptions photography...
i believe they use film and definatly do gorgeous photojournalism... my cousin used them for her june 06 wedding at oheka and they were just AMAZING!

I agree- Although, I'm not sure they use film...maybe they use both?
Anyway, they werent on your list- so I voted for Golden Moments who were also FABULOUS! (Although I went with Perceptions )
We're using Artisan in Plainview! They do excellent work and were highly recommended!

Im using 12th night all I can say is that they are really talent and you are not obligated to get an album right now. You are just paying for pure talent. How do you know what type of album you would want without even seeing your pics first? You will always ended up upgrading and spend more money in the end also. I like that they let you worry about the album later.

Out of those 5 photographers, I am very familiar with the work of: Patken (I used them, so did my 2 cousins and one of my cousins friends], they're amazing! Vinnie & Steve are great and Doug, he's the owner, he shoots all like celebrities and stuff! He's awesome but he charges his own fee!
The Velvet Studios, alot of 2006 brides used them. Theyre work is AMAZING!
12th night, a nice amount of 2006'ers used them as well. The photos are beautiful!
Angelica glass - Absolutely amazing! She really knows how to capture the light and fix pix. a 2006 named KittyTheStray used angelica Glass for 'day after pix' she is just amazing!
All of these photographers are great at tradition AND photojournalistic & candids. However, with Patken, they gear more towards photojournalistic & candid, and not enough tradition.

OMG! Patken is in #2 right behind angelica glass! Patken always used to be #1, but the newly popular angelica glass is in first! :o) she deserves it, her stuff is frikken amazzzzzinng!

I think Angelica Glass' work is gorgeous. She was booked on my date. But, I'm going with North Island photo and they're great too.

DEFINITELY angelica glass. i am using velvet, and they're great... but i booked them before i heard about angelica. if i could go back, i would have definitely booked her! (although i know velvet will be good too)
