Photographer post-booking fears

HELP! I just booked Jimmy from F i n e A r t photography last week and I'm suddenly thinking of all these things that I wanted but he can't offer me. For instance, he does not give brides a CD of her pictures b/c then she could just 'go out and print them herself.' Well that's what I wanted! If my friends like a pic, I don't want them to have to buy one. Also, does anyone know if the proofs he gives say proof on them or can they be copied? The only think I keep telling myself is how much I loved his photos. they were beautiful and that's all that matters. but is it?!? Someone please talk me off this ledge! regret is an ugly word!
Thanks!!

Our photographer doesn't usually give the photos on a CD but we told him that was a deal breaker for us and we wouldn't be able to use him. He threw in the CD at no extra charge. However, hard copy (printed out) proof don't usually say proof on them so you can scan them and make copies later.

I used F ine Art and had Jimmy. Relax, you have nothing to worry about. First if it wasn't what you were looking for in his package why did you book?? I'm just curious. He gives you a CD with all of your proofs once you recieve your album. All your proofs go onto a website for everyone to view a month after your wedding, then you get them on a CD.

As for their name being plastered on the picture...no. It's a regular picture that you get to keep. You truly have nothing to worry about. He is an amazing photographer, people still can't get over how many pictures he took that day ( I recieved over 2,500 proofs back from him). FM if you have any other questions, but honestly do not regret choosing him. His work is amazing!

Alot of photographers dont do that., but listen you can talk to him and ask him if he would do that for you.

Re: Photographer post-booking fears

My FSIL got a CD from her photographer that half of her proofs were on, but all of the pics were VERY low resolution, so when she tried to print they were terrible. The photographer actually owns the copyright to all of your pics, so unless you contract to buy all the images (negatives/digital images) they would probably be low res. too, and I can't imagine a photographer throwing that in unless you're paying for it

Most photographers have the same concern and therefore will not give pictures on a disc. If they do give you pictures on a disc they usually have a watermark on them or are really low quality.
I gave my photographer a really hard time and we ended up negotiating that each picture I wanted on a disc he would give me on a disc for $1 a picture. I got 100 of my favorite pictures and paid $100 bucks.

I'm getting all of my proofs on a CD at no charge and a set of proofs printed out. Anything else I want I can buy after I see the proofs at the same prices they were offered when we booked. I'm sure if you talk to them about it you can work something out

I met with Jimmy and he was my runner up and I really think youhave NOTHING to worry about! He takes amazing pictures. If having your pics on a CD for your use why did you book himright away instead of waiting?

Just tell him that you really want it. Most companies dont do this because they don't want you to get the work done somewhere else. I had to have choice with MY pictures that is why I booked a company where I had no boundaries when it came to MY pictures.

We booked him and we are getting a high resolution cd as well as a second one that we will never touch unless something goes wrong with the first one and we need another back up copy made. Maybe it depends on the package you selected?
