Photographer Question

Photographer Question

We are trying to decide on a photographer, but have a concern. We are leaning towards using a more 'artistic' photographer, but also want to take the full slew of traditional family portraits before the wedding ceremony.

We know if we make a list of 50 must-have pictures, the photographer will take them as requested. But we are afraid that it will 'cramp her style' and affect her work throughout the rest of the day when we want to get the candid, creative shots.

Any thoughts, experiences, etc.?

Thanks!!!

Re: Photographer Question

This is something that I had issues with as well.

I booked my photographer because I loved their style, and I don not plan on submitting to them a 'must take' list. I will give them a list of 'traditional' photos that need to be taken with certain family members or certain areas of my venue that I love and would like to have photos taken there, but I do not plan on giving them images taken by another photographer and ask them to replicate it. Their style is their style, I love how they took photojournalistic shots so I am totally confident that my candid shots will be beautiful. But this is just IMO.

Re: Photographer Question

Most photographers know the must haves. You can make a list if you wish, but don't show pictures of another phographers work. They'll use their own style, and your pics will be beautiful.
