It all depends on the photography and what type of package you go with. We had to leave 20% of what our package was. I believe we left more tho. We did not have an engagement shoot in our package. Most vendors allow the deposit to be put on a credit card.

Thanks Ladies :) we are paying cash for everything in our wedding. we saved so much money on our venue by paying cash ( taxes and fee's ) and i was told by a lot of people thats the best way to go. so I'm hoping we will get some kind of deal that way. i want to have a fall engagement pictures so i figure id ask around to get some idea's. i haven't decided on what photographer company i want to use. there are so many to choose from.

I am not sure if m deposit was so low because we decided not to use video as well, but we had a $550 deposit, free engagement shoot and some Thank You cards as well. We are using Glenmar Studios. The engagement pics were awesome :)

I used Patken and I believe the deposit is 1/3 of the overall cost. My package included the engagement shoot. We also did cash for the majority of our vendors and it really does help when making deals.

We went with Cecilia at Boschelli photography. She had great packages. Engagement photos were included and we put $500 down. She also has a discount if you book with her at your first meeting. She's great!Welcome New Vendors
