I'm in the process of shopping for a photographer - does anyone know the advantages/disadvantages of using digital photography vs. film?

Re: Photographer Question - Digital vs. Film
To the untrained eye they look the same but I prefer the richness of film.

Re: Photographer Question - Digital vs. Film
I dont really know the difference--but one photographer said they don't how digital pictures will last through the years. I am using film--some places take film and convert to digital. Good luck!!!

Re: Photographer Question - Digital vs. Film
My photographer uses digital. The difference is that the digital photographers take about 5,000 pictures and the film photographers take about 500 - 1000. I don't see much of a difference between the two, but you can change digital pictures more easily.

Re: Photographer Question - Digital vs. Film
Our photog uses Film. We saw him loading it when we took our e-pics. He was then able to load them on a CD for us! I'm sure there's no difference in film & digital when looking at them.
Wow 5,000 pictures... how do you even look through that many???

Re: Photographer Question - Digital vs. Film
We are doing film b/c we are not sure how the digital pics will hold up over time. We also asked our photographer to scan our pics (or negs) onto cd for us - then we can change them however we want ourselves.
