I'm just about done with looking at DJ's and am heading to look at photographers.
Does anyone have any recommendations for photographers that are creative? (and hopefully not way too expensive) Yes, I want some of the 'normal' posed photos and candids, but I am looking for one that will take into account the surroundings and the people and come up with 'unique' or creative photo ideas/ poses.

I used two, and budgeted it by just having hi res DVDs and printing photos myself when I have the money. Doing a couple of photobook albums for family and making a video montage myself.
Both were unique and creative, and I think seem to fit with what you are looking for.
Laura Ryan Photography Laura is a little bit more expensive but her perfectionism is worth it. I used Laura for our a-typical portraits and some of the ceremony. Laura does very dramatic artistic photos Her photos are art and she makes you feel like part of the art, and you become less aware of yourself.
I had my hi rez disk in 2 months from Laura.
ShiraZ Shira adds a flair of fun and sweetness to the photos. I used Shira for photojournalist throughout the ceremony and reception Shira has an amazing way to capture peoples expressions, emotions in the most flattering way, she caught the best moments and gave us some of the best captured memories. I think we were cranky portrait takers, (well, I am anyway) But she somehow got pretty decent photos of adhoc portraits... especially of all the kids there, really great.
I had my hi rez disk in 1 month from Shira.
I was thoroughly pleased with both. Both were super professional, easy to work with, delivered the photos promptly and gave me no issues.

I booked with Twelfth Night but really loved Shira Z's work...lots will depend on your budget.
This is a big vendor, take your time and enjoy looking at all their work! There's LOTS of great photographers out there but you want to make sure that you are comfortable and that they are pleasant enough where you want them around for 10+ hours.

I am using GE Masana, very creative!!! And you get an actual coffee table book with your photo package. .. fun and he seems to have a great sense of humor!

Definitely try Michael Rosengard from North Island Photography. He's amazing and takes amazing photos!!!! Really gets the emotions of the moment....
Imagine Studios. Lia is amazing. Search the boards for girls that have used her...the pics are beautiful.

I definitely will tell you to go with Amanda Picone. She did our epics, my boudoir and will be doing my wedding. I love her work! A lot of girls also use her on this site.
