PHOTOGRAPHERS

Does anyone have any input about Jovon Photographers or Franklin Square Photographers?

I am having a hard time choosing. I'm getting price quotes of about $8000.00 for a Saturday in July of 2008 for BOTH PHOTOS AND VIDEO!

Does this sound right?
Has anyone used either company and have any comments.

PLEASE HELP!!

Im going with Duval and my price is half that for both services. Sounds like a lot of money!

that sounds pretty good to me. considering mine is like 9k. we went with sherwood triart. jovon we almost went with. except hearing a few girls say they lost their pictures turned us off.

Nooooooo, 8,000 is way too much for photo/video, wow thats alot. I have heard of 12th night photo/video where you get almost 2000 pics taken, you can have 3 photographers, hours of video etc etc and for a really good cheap price. Also Patken, Franklin Square Photo, SHerwood Triart, they are expensive but I dont think 8,000 expensive

I got photo/video and 2 photographers for $6,500 and I thought that was expensive

I just wrote below that Sherwood is expensive but not 8,000 expensive, lololol. You are paying 9,000, do you mind me asking if you get alot of photos taken and is video included? They are my RH recommended photo.

I'm paying less than that for my photo/video. I know that Franklin Square is pricier than many other comparable photo/video places though.....

yep that's the price for Franklin Square and in IMO opinion it's worth every last cent! They are amazing!!!!!

Thanks, now the price makes sense bec of the second photo and with video. I made an app with them next month to view their work and go over packages. I really want them, lol

My quote was less for Franklin Square, but I had 70 pics and the middle video package. They were willng to work with us to cut more of the cost, but unfortunatly it wasn't enough. That said, the pics are amazing and so is the customer service. If I could book FS, I would.

I just book Duet, about 45 minutes ago. I sent a couple of friends and FH to both websites, and none of them noticed a drastic difference. 12th night is also great, its a smaller/cheaper version of FS. You meet the owner/photographer and its a family run business. They don't print pics there through from my understanding.

And my parents were flipping out because they thought $5000 was too much!

I had no idea that photographers were this bad.

I've seen packages for less and more but i'm having problems figuring it all out also.

its gonna vary greatly...If its a big company where they have a bunch of photographers they can be less....when you hire an individual who works for themselves, usually it will be just their name it can cost more money...You have to remember that they dont work for a company that supplies them with cameras, a studio and all that so alot of it is out of pocket expenses for them.

Also the popularity of a person and what they offer...you have to evaluate packages, and compare it to what others give you and see what is right for you

AGREED!
I used them obviously too - worth every cent!
My proofs are amazing...so is my album - just received the slideshow of my album via email to approve! Can't wait for my video - should have that in the next 3 mos I think!
They rock - I had Greg and Dawn...Keith is the other photog (Greg's bro) who is great too. They all are...DAWN is the best...totally awesome photojournalist! I love them!

PS - $8k is good....my wedding past already and my package was more! Maybe I got a longer video or more pics in my album than you - not sure. So take the $8k with Franklin Sq and run with it...BOOK THEM!

Jo Von is good but I have seen a few of their albums and I just like FS's style much better...

It is going to vary but I think $8,000 is insane! But I'm on a tight budget so ...
I saw 5 photographers and although I'm not getting video, all but one was about $5,000 for both photo/video (which includes two photographers).
I'm booking with 12th Night tomorrow and their work is amazing and affordable. Don't know how much video costs though. Look into them.
You should also look into Thomas Paul. I know two photographers for the day with albums and proofs was a little over $3,000. Don't know about video though.

I was doing research on these boards and everything I have seen is half that. I think you should look into other photographers such as Duet, 12th night, Glenmar etc.
