I am looking to find a photography that shoots in film, provides proofs and negatives and offers albums by a la carte pricing. My parents and his parents don't want parent albums, we are doing framed collages instead. Every photographer we go to seems to only offer packages. We love photojournalistic work.
We have seen:
Cousins photography - loved them, but $3,600 just to shoot your wedding
Duet - liked there work, but I got the impression the guy didn't understand me, and I didn't understand him. That concerns me
Angelica Studios - Did not like his work, too pushy and only concerned with $$$
Perceptions - Loved Anthony Vasquez's work, but he only has packages
Spelman - Too artsy
Can you see I am getting frustrated!!!

Silverfox is all digital, but they have a alacarte. You can ask, they may do film on request, but check them out, it is high quality digital.
They give you digital files & printed proofs & everything is a la carte.
they didn't seem like a factory to me, the guys were really funny and personable, they took thier time, let us look at albums and videos, met us for a late appt that fit our schedule, even got us coffee from dunkin donuts. They were very regular, interested in what kind of wedding it would be (more beachy than classic, etc)......
They didn't seem like a factory to me either. They are busy, so it can be a little hectic, but the owner is great & seems to try & talk to everybody personally.
I am mid-album proccess with them, so FM if you want more details.

At Viewpoint (in Huntington), you pay $X and get $Y towards your albums, enlargements, TY's, whatever ...

We used Silverfox and loved them. They are so easy to get along with and there pictures were unbelievable. We used them for video too.

i would definitely look into 12th night if i were you - they do photojournalism and are very reasonable, and they give you your proofs on dvd (very cool!), or can print them.

Try Gary Leli. He does photojournalistic work, and you don't have to get a package. We are just paying for him to do the photography, and then after the wedding we are going to choose what we want.
