Hi Ladies, I'm having a pretty hard time finding a photographer. I want someone with an artistic/photojournalistic style who also will provide rights to pictures and will include a leather bound album with gilded edged pages for us and one for each set of parents. My FILs and FH both insist on formal albums. The smaller, more artistic photographers we've met with don't offer that. I also don't want to go with a super old school photographer who takes just straight on photos. I want something beautiful! Budget isn't a huge issue. Help please! I'd love some suggestions!
I've been to a million weddings myself, but everyone I talk to says 'I didn't love my photographer.' Where are the photographers people LOVED?

Thanks for all the suggestions. They all seem to fit what I'm looking for! I contacted all three this morning and am trying to set up an appointment with Lighthouse. I just wish Lighthouse wasn't so far away! We are located in the city and my fiance's parents are on the south shore, so it's a bit of a hike!
To be honest, they are totally worth the hike! DH & I live on the western Nassau/Queens border and booked them. I can't say enough good things about Lighthouse. They really were my favorite vendor.
Agree 100%! We live in Queens and Lighthouse was definitely worth the trip.

You make me so happy that we have an appointment with them! We're actually in Astoria-- so Queens as well. My FH works on the Nassau/Queens border and I work in the city. I'm definitely looking forward to meeting them. We're seeing them memorial day weekend. Thanks for all the help!

I booked with Thomas Paul. I love his work and Tom is great to work with. He's been great throughout the planning process - offering suggestions on places to take photos and just checking in.
Ken Hild!! He is amazing and I love his work. He is very reasonable with pricing and offers everything you are looking for!

I have the luxury of being 5 minutes from them but wesearched equidistant in your direction and Lighthouse was 'it' for us! We have LOVED Lighthouse. So professional, personal, friendly, and beautiful work.

We booked with Proline, very easy and a pleasure to work with. We had a newer photographer for our engagement shoot but she worked with other companies before Proline and we love how our pictures came out. Can't wait for the wedding day. I was told that there is one photographer that really does alot of their weddings at Westbury Manor and he is nicknamed the lens man and he has a case with all different lenses for all types of pictures. I believe we will be getting him the day of our wedding. I have to double check on that.
Yep!! Mike K and Mike R are the best! Those are the photogs I got for my wedding in two weeks. Mike K is the guy you are referring to, and Mike R is a young guy that does the photo-journalistic stuff on the side. We got two photogs so that Mike K, the main one, will be getting pics of my FH and I and the formal shots, while Mike R gets the candid side shots that everyone loves
Pavel shpak is who I'm going with..he is a one man show..I think it's really important to meet and see the work of the photographer who is going to shoot your wedding so that's why I didn't not book with a 'company'

I scheduled appointments with Lighthouse, Silver Fox and another company that was recommended to me but I haven't heard anything about on here, Treasured Memories. I have those all next week, and I'm hoping one will be perfect. Thanks for the help all!

Matthew Sowa!! I cannot say enough about him and his albums were the nicest I have ever seen. He is a bit $$, but worth every penny!

LOVE mine- Year and A Day based out of Bluepoint.. I have some of their work in my engagement picture album.. they are SUPER affordable because their packages dont include albums- but they do add them on if you want with countless options for the packages
