Photographer/Videographer - same company or not?

Photographer/Videographer - same company or not?

Does anyone have an opinion on whether it is better to use a videogrpaher and photographer from the same company or from different companies???

Someone told me it is better to go seperate b/c then each specializes in their craft, but I have heard several of you say that you got a pkg with both from the same place.

help!

I went seperate- 12th Night for photo and my sister's videographer from Phili (where my BIL is from). I am very happy with my choices!

I think I'd rather go with the same place, if my photo place does video. They can have people experienced in both fields. I mena, they obviosuly have different peopledoing videography, it's not like a still photographer picking up a video camera. Plus you can get a package AND they'll coordinate better. That's my instinct. However, the most important thing is to watch the same videos and see whose work you like the most!

The ladies at Perfect Wedding Planner said to go with one company for both, because you won't have Rivalling companies competing for your attention.

I'm going with one company for both, and I'm happy (so far).

We're getting both from the same company, Duet. I loved both of their services and I was able to get a good package deal. It's also one less vedor to coordinate with. Your decision should be based on your experinces and your opinion. If you love the photo and not the video, than you should go ahead and book them separate.

I am doing one company for both - it is just eaiser that way! One cant get in the way of the other- and if they do they'll be respectfull of each other 100% of the time.

I have separate companies, but they have a good working relationship with each other.

Personally, I wouldn't put all of my eggs in one basket, but I also wouldn't want two different people fumbling over each other.

Like Suven I too have different companies. However, they have worked with each other countless of times in the past. Several brides on here have used them as well.

I am using the same company for both. It just worked out that way but now that I think about it, it might work a little better because they know each other? Maybe...?

I went separate - Marcy Studio for photography and Bellarino for videography.

definitly the same. I went to a wedding once where they used 2 differant comp. and they fought with each other the whole day, my friend was so pissed.

I am going with 2 different companies. I am nervous giving one company too much power over my memories. If I don't like the video, or photography I would be more concerned about voicing my opinion if they are covering both. On that note, I also made it very clear to both my photographer and videographer if I sense any fighting...etc. the day of the wedding I will flip on them. I told them this was a concern of mine and they told me not to worry. Both vendors are small and really laid back, so I'm not to worried. I am using 12th night photo and JPI video.

We are having seperate companys. If you think about one really doesnt have anything to do with the other. But you might get a deal if you use one co. In our case our photographer knows bill and marie from wild rose - so i dont think it will be a problem.
