Photographs up the stairs?

Original post by jms100303

Do any of you hang photographs going up your stairs?

I want to do this, but not sure on they style. I had thought I wanted to do only b&w photos, but then we got some of the portraits we ordered from our wedding and they are in color. I love the pics, and just like how the color 'pops'. I could hang them elsewhere in the house and continue with my b&w idea up the stairs. Or I could have a mixture of color and b&w, but not sure what the effect of that would be. What do you think?

Also do you think I have to have the same frame for all the pics? I was thinking of having all different one's, but semi related. Like in my living room I have a ton of pics, all in different frames but they are all brushed silver, so I was thinking the same idea for up the stairs. What do you think?

One last question - for those of you who have b&w hanging in your house - how did you frame them? I have seen b&w photographs matted with a white mat and then a black frame and that looks nice too.

Sorry for all the questions, TIA.

Your house is so beautiful, I love the style. Where did you get bakers rack? We had one, but it was too big. I love that yours holds wine glasses and bottles of wine.

Thank you again!!
We bought our bakers rack at Bombay & Co. It wasnt thqat much $$ at all and we had a coupon for $10 off. We bought it at the store in Huntington Village but I think it's also available online. The original shelves were dark cherry-colored wood with glass, but DH painted them a lighter color and crackeled them to match the DR hutch.
I think they have a few diff styles online but they had different models in the store.
Its a perfect size too and holds all of our wine glasses and bottles of wine.
