I am starting my Photography search and went to see JoVon. They do great work but priced me pics and video-$7200. I received Mark Kauffman info and video. Prices seemed like about $6000. I did a search on the boards for photography but found no info on prices. What's out there in the $4000 range--including video?? Am I budgeteing too low for photography???

Photography* Try Imagine Studios
www.imaginestudios.net They advertise on this board. We used them for our engagement pics and out 9/14 wedding. I love the proofs, they were a pleasure to work with. They captured everything we wanted and then some. We got so many good shots we cant decide on our thank you pics.

Not sure about video but you could do a Mark Kaufman photography package within your price range. Have you discussed your budget with him? He is very flexible and will try to help as best he can.

We worked with Mark Kauffman and our pix are fabulous!
One of the most important aspects of our wedding was photography. We worked with Lynn & Tony from Mark's studio and are thrilled with the results! We have over 1,500 of the most incredible proofs and our biggest problem we face is what to include in our albums! Don't go by what you saw on the video & in the brochure. I would suggest you actually go and meet with Mark. He's really reasonable and will try and work within your budget. We were also glad with the 'a la carte' pricing. We can make up our minds about reprints and albums over the next few months and then pay for it. Personally we chose not to do a video. Of all my friends who went through the trouble and expense, after the first few months they never watched it again. A friend of ours brought his camcorder and captured all the key moments for us. It's wonderful and we never even knew he had done this until we were home from the honeymoon. It's all personal preference though. If you have any questions about Mark & his studio I'd be happy to help! Good Luck Michele

wedding group one
I know if you do a search on this board you'll see I've been raving about this company. They really did an awesome job. Our proofs were incredible! We worked on the layout of our album with their 'artist' and can't wait to see the finished product. We had 2 photographers and a videographer for less than $5000. Check out their website www.weddingone.com

I interviewed about 8 photographers. They were referrals from close friends and the websites. I went with Duval Photographers in Wantagh. I felt really comfortable with them and loved their work.

VIP studios in Port Jefferson. I went all the way to see him from Queens, and I am so happy I did. His TOP package is 3000 and TOP video is 1300 or so...you get 2 photographers and an assistant...very nice guy...I got his name from this board and 2 brides just got married and used him said you barely knew he was there...I can't wait to hear about their proofs. I think his website is www.vipstuli.com

Michael O`Neill
Depending on what you`re looking for, like album size and such, it`s hard to quote a price from photographers. But, I have to recommend Michael O`Neill. Our package is in your ballpark, including video on two VHS tapes. (We are now going to add a DVD, since they now offer that, and didn`t at contract signing.) We had upgraded to an album of 60, and if I recall correctly, we upgraded to a higher quality album too. We will be getting two parent albums, and I forget what else. Michael O`Neill was absolutely wonderful to work with. It rained all day, so conditions were not ideal. Since we had time between the ceremony and reception because we couldn`t go to the park, he invited us back to his studio for our portraits. After the wedding, we had so much fun when we went back out on a sunny day to have our outdoor shots done of just my husband and me in our wedding attire. And you could really tell he was having fun setting up all kinds of shots with the backgrounds. He offers a 100% weather guarantee. They have been so professional and accomodating. Our proofs would have been in already, but since our outdoor shots were done later, we decided to wait until all the proofs came in before picking them up. I`m really looking forward to getting them. As for the video, we thought the demo was cute. The video person never seemed to get in the way of anything. My only regret, is that I probably would have preferred having two cameras at the ceremony .. but maybe it`s just me being paranoid. I haven`t seen the tape yet. http://www.monphoto.com

Mark Kauffman
You should go meet Mark. You do not need to spend $7K on photographer. I am spending around $4500 with Mark. I have Lynn and Roy booked, which are two of his top photographers. I have a lot of photos in my package. Also, for video definately call Wild Rose. There stuff is truly beautiful. Those packages around $1400-$2000. I meet with 5 photographers and 6 video and chose Mark and Wild Rose. Both are well worth the trip to meet them!!
