Has anyone booked their photographer yet? Is it too early? The reason I asked is because I tried to book with a photographer and was told that they didn't have prices for 2008 yet so he can't quote me a price. Which, in turn is telling me that I can't book until 2008.

Re: Photography
That is kind of strange. All the photographers we have talked to said we can book now for 08. We haven't booked anyone yet, but they said they would give us 06 or 07 prices(depending on the photographer). Many don't have their 08 prices, but I think it is unreasonable to expect you to wait until 08 to book with him. He could end up booked on that date. Can't he just book you and give him a deposit? If you really want that photographer, make it clear to him and see what he can do. Hope that helps.

Re: Photography
i talked to Lombardo last week and I am going to Patken tomorrow - so far i had no problems with ANY of my vendors with the 2008 prices. . .
the reason that i booked so early is specifically to get 2006 prices - and I personally wouldn't book with anyone who was giving me 2007 or 2008 prices - since it is customary to give prices for hte year you book in not the year of the wedding
if i were you i would try a different place!

I would move on and keep looking. He sounds like he is in the business for the money and doesn't want to commit until he can see what the 08 numbers will look like. I may be wrong and he may be a stand up guy, but I know I would keep looking if someone told me I cannot book for 08 yet

Re: Photography
hey ladies, I'm crashing your boards....
I get so upset when vendors tell me I have soo much time. One of pros of having a long engagement is that you can book vendors early, get better deals and not be as stressed! I hate when anyone second guesses that. Honestly, whenever people tell me I have so much time, it turns me off. I would look elsewhere.

Hi Girls,
My good friend was engaged this year and is also having an '08 wedding. Sometimes I check out this forum to help her out (she doesn't get access to it!) and I figured I would return the favor to all of you girls.
She's looking into her photography now and recommends this site...hope it helps a little : )

Re: Photography
We just booked Deja Vu studios in Mineola and they had no problem giving us a price and booking our business. It may be to early to discuss details but we have the pick of the litter since we are so early. That is the best part. I would move on then and find a photographer that will help you. Alot of them share insight on how your day should run. This may be helpful in booking other vendors you want. You deserve the best since it is so early.
