My fiance and I have just started looking for photographers, videographers and DJs. So far we have looked at ProLine Studios and Deja Vu Studios and are looking into Lawrence Photographers tomorrow. Ahs anyone ever used them? Are there any recommendations that you can offer us?

Floral Terrace suggested Big Hits, Body Rock and We Like 2 Party Entertainment companies. Any suggestions from anyone who has used them.

We are getting married November 28th, 2008 so we would like to book fairly soon.

Thanks for your help!!!!

I'm booked with the Sand Castle who has the same owner as Floral Terrace. So the vendors are pretty much the same.

I booked with Proline. I found their work to be good, and they were decently priced. I did research on here about prices for other photographers, checked out websites, but ended up just booking with Proline - which was the only place I met with. I felt very comfortable with them, and Ed was nice to work with for booking.

As for a DJ, I'm using a company called Jimmy Dee Productions which is in Westchester. My friend had used them at her wedding and they were awesome. But I am familiar with 1-800-Big-Hits because I heard them play at a wedding I was at a few years ago. I thought they were great, and if I didn't book Jimmy Dee I had planned on checking them out! My friend almost booked Big Hits for an event of hers, but they were booked. She was so upset cause she really liked them.

I went to a wedding recently where Body Rock was the DJ. I thought they did a good job of playing music, but the DJ did a lottttttttt of talking and was a lil cheesy. I thought maybe it was just me being critical at first, but then my friends at the table all were saying he was a bit corny and did talk too much. I don't know who the exact DJ/MC was, but it's something to keep in mind in case you don't like a talker (and this could probably happen with any DJ co - it really depends on the DJ/MC). I'd say let them know ahead of time that you're paying them to play music, not talk, hahahaha.
