Met with some photographers last week hoping it would help quiet my massive anxiety about making a choice. We met with Silverfox, Jay lim and red sweatshirt. MEANWHILE I left feeling more unsure of what I wanted and then got MORE unsure when I asked some friends and got twelve(!) more recommendations they swear by. I really liked Jay lim and Scott at red sweatshirt but am still having a hard time getting on track.

Any thoughts?

We are going to see JayLim saturday,... I had a list of 12.. gave to FH to choose top 5 and we went from there. Also met with Lighthouse- they are AMAZING, Matthew Adam and will meet with JoVon saturday too

I saw A LOT of photographers (and have all their quotes if you want them), and decided on Lighthouse. More than we thought we wanted to pay, but Florio was exactly what we were looking for.

Have you decided on a style of photography you like? That's always a starting point.

We booked SilverFox and we are in LOVE! Maybe you should make a list of pros and cons of each and them & whatever has the most pros.. Book.

This was one area I had nothing to think about. A close family friend is a photographer so I had no problem.

We narrowed it down to 2 photographers and then booked with JayLim. LOVE him and his work! HTH!!!

This is the exact problem I am having. We are absolutely in love with Lighthouse! It is just sooooo expensive! We met with 3 other photographers and nothing seems to compare. Just having trouble wrapping my head around how much more expensive the were. They were almost double the price of Patken! I don't know what to do

Thanks!If you could send some of the quotes that would be super helpful. I guess the stress is that my FH and i are both a little camera shy and uncomfortable with so much pose-y traditional stuff. I'm hoping to find someone who is creative and can help get the good candid stuff as well - something i guess the style is 'photojournalism'? We also want video and are trying to do the pros and cons of same place photo/video vs different vendors for each.

We booked SilverFox and we added a Photojournalist into our package because we wanted shots both traditional and candid. We booked our videographer with SilverFox too!

Jackie, I was torn also between lighthouse and patken b/c of the price but lighthouse's work is just no comparison!!!!!!!! You won't be disapointed!!! Florio is AMAZING!

I know!! Now FH is saying maybe we just won't get video since its 2500 but I really want it :(

Also, I know lighthouse is expensive, but I feel that nothing compared to it, so we just stopped over thinking and signed the contract.

I am going to send you all the quotes I have. I have either heard nothing but good things for all these photographers, or have known people who have used them and had good experiences which is why I met with them. Or I list in the FM why I didn't like them (which is only my opinion).

I know it's a lot of money, and I didn't want to spend nearly what I am spending, but in the end, after the food is eaten and the band/DJ is gone, and you take off your dress at the end of the day, the only thing you have left besides your memories are your photos and video. It may seem like a lot right now, but in the grand scheme of things, it makes sense for that to be the thing that you splurge on.

My best friend just used lighthouse, said they were expensive but worth EVERY penny, she thought she'd hate every picture but she said they did an AMAZING job...and she's SUPERRRRR critical and hard to please! LOL

I booked Jay as well! I met with Duet and Lighthouse-- my family always used Duet but, they seem to be in transitioning so i wanted somewhere different and lighthouse was great but JayLim was just the best choice for me :)

I definitely think it has to do with what style of photography you want, but I agree that JayLim and Lighthouse were the best for photojournalism!!
