ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR KEY QUESTIONS FH & I SHOULD BE ASKING??

If you are keeping proofs.
How much time do they give you and how much does it cost if you go over.
What is the turn around time for albums.

do you have all the rights to your proofs (i.e., can you print as many as you want at your own discretion)?

how many hours do they cover?

are your proofs edited/finished?

THANKS FOR THE HEADS UP---I'VE HEARD THAT THE COPYRIGHTS TO THE PROOFS ARE TRICKY...SOMETIMES THESE PLACES DONT GIVE YOU THE ACCESS UNTIL LIKE MONTHS/YEARS LATER...

really?! that is crazy I wouldn't book with someone who would make me wait like that. that doesn't make sense!

who do you have your appointment with?

make sure they have insurance. my rh requires a 1,000,000 dollar insurance from each vendor. it should say in your contract what russo's requires.

I fell in love with a photographer's work but did not book them for this reason. They would not release high res jpg's until 3 years after the wedding. It is worth it, to me at least, to own the proofs on DVD in high res. The photographer I booked even said we could bring in a drive and save them on there.

See if you'll be able to meet with the actual photographer at some point before booking. You want to make sure you jive with the person who will actually be at your wedding, not the sale person you usually first meet with. That was important to me at least.

Make sure their style matches your own and get a feel with how they work the day of (do they require a shot list? how much time do they need for formal pics and will it go into cocktail hour, etc).

Oh you'll be fine. He's great. I think everything will rely on you, ie if he fits your budget, if you like his style. But TP is amazing, no worries there

We are booked w/ Patken and LOVE them so far

Def ask:
Do you get copyright to pics
How long are they with you
What is the avg amount of pics you will get
Do you get disc w/ proofs or pictures
Are pics watermarked or can you keep them to make copies of
How many pics per album do you get
How many photogs will be there
Will they take pics at 2 diff locations simultaneously (e.g. you at home and FH at his house)
Can you choose your photog (maybe you need someone to make you laugh, etc.)
Are your proofs edited or do they come untouched at first
To what degree do they edit (do you like to look flawless or have some reality in there LOLOL)
etc.
etc.

ETA: (just a heads up - DEF get quotes from numerous vendors so that you have negotiating power w/ pricing - literally every vendor was negotiable just by asking!)
