SO, back when I had a wedding planned for 2005 I had booked my photography with Anthony at Perceptions. He told me at the time I cancelled that if I should decide to book with him in the future he would honor my deposit (which was a lot). So I called him today and he said he would honor half of it, and keep the prices that he gave me for my package back in 05 (as they have gone up). which i think its pretty fair. But Anthony himself is not available for my date, which is another thing.....
My problem is that I am just confused... I was trying to decide between them, Thomas Paul, 12th night and maybe Duet? Does anyone have any experience with Perceptions or opinions of any of those photographers? Prices?
Also, his video pkg was a little expensive. Can I book someone else for video if I do end up using Perceptions?
I appreciate any opinions on this... I am so lost!

Re: Photography dilemma
I am a little biased, we booked with Duet, but it was the 2nd photographer we saw. But if you already have a deposit down, I am sure all the photographers at perceptions are amazing

have you tried searching the bride reviews for perceptions? I believe they get good reviews.

Re: Photography dilemma
Ill be honest-LOVE LOVE LOVE his work-I didnt book him nor did I meet with him, but he did call me and make a very rude comment to me when I told him I had already booked someone else.
Is there someone else there that you can book with? I know if you do a search a few reviews will come up-cant remember exactly who it was that used them but she was VERY happy with them.
Good Luck

oh no! What did he say? That's not right...
Well, Anthony himself is not available on my tentative day anyways so it would have to be someone else there. When i do searches on my other prospects I hear rave reviews too! thats whats so hard

I would take a break from looking for a photographer and see who sticks in your mind afterwards.
One of my friends used Perceptions, and her pictures are absolutely amazing.

Re: Photography dilemma
I booked photo and video seperately. Photos were super important to FH (and me, but less so) and video was not that key. I got a photog who is phenomenal (and pricey) and a video guy who is great for the price!

Re: Photography dilemma
If you left your deposit, I would meet the photographers who are available and see if you like them. If you do, why not make use of the deposit you left? You can totally use someone else for video. I highly recommend Joe from inifinite images for video.

Re: Photography dilemma
you can definitely book a separate videographer...i actually found it cheaper to do it that way than to do both from 1 vendor.
Look into Bellarino Video if you're interested.

Re: Photography dilemma
I had looked at Perceptions and I thought their work was really good. If you already left a deposit, you might as well take advantage of that. Go meet with the other photographers and see if you click with them. IMO, after having met Anthony, I think it's a good thing he's not available on your day. Similar to Peg, my experience with him was not great.
