Hi - MY Fiance' and I are pretty much paying for our entire wedding. We went to two studio's last night and wow they are expensive! Can anyone higly recommend a place that is on the less expensive side but that also does great work???? We really were not looking to spend 3-4 k on a photographer alone... we already have videography through our DJ company we booked.
We are located in the North Babylon area of Long Island, NY.

You might want to look into 12th Night, Duet, and Marienela Vera. I believe they all have packages that come in under 3K.

i think most photographers have packages where you can just get the proofs and negatives, and then make your own albums. These should all come in way under the 3-4K range.

Silverfox was the second place we went to.. they are about 3k and they charged two seperate prices for the photojournalistic and the regular photographer .. I really did like them over Deja Vu though..

I booked with Glenmar in Roslyn. I got video and photo for $3500, including albums, etc.

and i was going with a friend that does photography till I heard and saw how great the pics were from duet and 12th night! and from what I hear they are pretty good with pricing!

we are using Proline Studios and paying around that price - you might want to look at them - i've been very happy with them so far and they have several different locations.

12th Night is great with pricing. You can get a great package for $2,000 or less and that may include 2 photographers. One of them a photojournalist.

I'm using K & J Photography and I couldn't be happier. I did tons of shopping, I saw at least 8 other photographers (Duet, PatKen, Vivid, Leli, etc)
They do video and I wanted to book the same company for both.
They let me customize my package to suit MY NEEDS and they were very reasonably priced, but not the cheapest of the ones I saw. No matter who you go with - Photo is not something you should pick the cheapest vendor on.
So far we've done my engagement shots and I am very happy with their work and service. K & J is NOT a vendor I will have to sit on to make sure they get the job done.
