photography in church?

Hi everyone -FH and I went to meet with the pastor of the church we're using for the wedding yesterday. However I was soooooo upset when he told us that we couldnt' have pictures taken in the church either before or during the ceremony. I know a lot of churches don't allow the photography in the church and have you stage everything afterward to take pictures. However - I don't know what to do cuz I think that it's not going to capture the moment and it won't be the same and I'm just so upset about this. It was my main thing that I wanted was to have pictures of the ceremony. Any advice?

I was asking some of my friends who have recently gotten married and they said the same thing although they said that they were able to take pictures during the processional and the recessional. It's easier to get married in his church because his family has close ties with that church. I just don't know what to do.....

Maybe ask if pictures can be taken as long as the photographer does not come on the altar?? For my 15th bday in our culture you go to get a blessing at the church before the big party (sweet 15). My church did not allow the photographer to come on the altar but he could take pics inside the church.

Pictures are extremely important to me and if I was in your situation, I would find a church that I was able to take pictures in. You want every moment.

WOW.... I have never heard of such a thing.... I do know that most churches will not let photogrpahers ON the altar, but they usually stay in the main aisle or on the side. Perhaps you could come to some agreement with the church? If it was me, I don't know what I would do... I would think that I would go to another church if they absolutely won't bend on this.... I would want the pics of the real moment, not staged ones.

GOOD LUCK!
