I just need to vent..I have been to at least 7 photographers and still can't find 'the one'. I know that sounds stupid but ones that I love take great pictures but don't give us much. Others were okay or I loved the photos not that impressed with video.
I want to see 2 more than just make a decision
Sorry for venting..it's just very annoying I wanted to have this booked by the time my classes started again and that is tomorrow so it's not gonna happen.

Re: Photography Issues (vent)
I know what you mean! The photographers I really loooved were expensive and the one I ended up going with (Patken) was like 3,000 cheaper and I couldn't justify paying an extra 3,000 when overall the quality wasn't that different. It's not that i'm unhappy with my choice, b/c i know they are going to still do a great job...but their style is still a bit different than mine but not so much that i'm going to worry tons.
Have you checked out Imagine Studios...they were the one place where i thought their quality of photos AND video was just amazing!! However for the price they don't give you that much you know...but still i think they would be worth it.
i wish you the best of luck and hang in there. way your options, the pros and cons and what you feel most comfortable with. you'll find something.

Re: Photography Issues (vent)
Patken is actually in our top 2. I think I am going to make a spread sheet to see who is giving us the most for our $$
Glad to know I am not the only one with this issue. I just wasn't wowed by any of the video...some I definately liked better than other though

Re: Photography Issues (vent)
My fiance and I saw at least 5 or 6 photographers/videographers. Plus we had about 3 or 4 more that I ended up canceling because I thought I was going to lose my mind sitting through all those appointments.
We disagreed on who to go with for the same reason.
Some were ruled out because I could not justify spending 8 or 9k on both.
We couldn't agree on one company for both and ended up going with Wild Rose for video and North Island for Photography. All in all we just went a little over our 5k budget so I'm happy. We didn't sacrifice one thing for better quality of the other. Both companies seem phenomenal.
and I know exactly what you mean about having it done before classes start. We started early July and I wanted photography, video, and dj booked by the time school starts this week. We succeeded but it sure took a lot longer than I thought. Now I don't want to do anything until school break in December when I have time off again I'll start searching for a Florist.

Today I actually made a spread sheet to see who is giving us what. It still didn't help with the decision. If I could just take some from almost all of them I would be happy

2010er crashing... We just went through looking at a bunch of photographers and booked with Proline. Amanda Picone and J Mitchell came in really close and they were the cheapest I saw and had amazing pictures. FM if you would like info. Good Luck!!!

Re: Photography Issues (vent)
I'm sorry your so stressed & confused..pictures are a very important part of our day as we all know. I am very biased to Patken because #1, I booked them, but I also have my FSIL & 5 of her in laws (siblings & cousins) used them as well. FH didn't undetstand what the difference was with any of the photographers out there so we had a viewing of their pics & few of their videos one night. When we got home I then went on different photographer's websites & showed him any sample videos I could find & I can honestly say they are just in a league of their own. I know is is a matter of opinion but I love their work. Maybe if you call & tell them you're between 2 companies & you wanted to know if they can they throw in some other things for the price. Also, they are now doing their alot of their printing in the studio pretty soon, so the add on pricing is supposed to be much cheaper later on. There are some very good companies out there that I have seen too. But in my eyes no one compres to them..good luck & keep us posted!!!

Re: Photography Issues (vent)
I agree with the Patken comment 110 percent. My FH and I were sold on them the second we walked into their studio and saw their samples. In comparison to other photographers we checked out, their style and quality seemed to beat everyone else out of the water. Quality pictures are super important simply because you only have one chance to get them right, so a good photographer is worth their weight in gold. We already went in to do our engagement shoot, and the pictures came out amazing (we had a difficult time choosing just one, so we ended up buying a couple lol). If you decide to go with Patken or anyone else, make sure that you consider quality over quantity. I'd rather have 50 beautiful pictures than 150 so-so ones. Good luck, I'm sure you'll find a photographer you love and the pictures will be amazing.

Try making a list of the things that are important to you. Maybe that will help.
Have you met with Artisan?

Right now we are between 3. We have an appt with one one them again this Saturday so hopefully by next week we will have made a decision. I want to look at them all fresh again.
Thanks for all of your opinions.
