Photography on a budget
Hi everyone!I'm Rachel, and I'm new. My friends Jackie and Christine recommended these boards to me, so here I am!
My #1 problem at the moment is that I'm looking for a good quality photographer and videographer on a budget of somewhere around $3000. I know that's a lot to ask, but there's got to be SOMEONE out there!
Should I currently be looking for other places to cut corners?
Thanks,
Rachel

Try Hilite Photographers in Westbury. My whole package w/ video was only $2600.

Re: Photography on a budget
Hi Rachel,First Welcome!
I had the same issue, we are on a budget and want quality work. We almost cut out video, but thanks to the girls on this board we found DUET Photography.
Do a search and you will find posts about Duet and you will see littlecat's epics and wedding pics and 2003oct10 epics. ALot of girls on liwedding have beenbooking DUET.

We also met with Patken and they are good too. Alot of girls on liweddings use them. They were still over our budget though for both photo & video.
We decided Duet because we just really clicked with them and after seeing littlecat's epics I was confident in our decision.
Good luck with your search.

Re: Photography on a budget
I personally would be cutting costs elsewhere fro your wedding. You could probably see my other posts here online. But...'to me'...photos and video are moments that stand out and captured of your day. I'm not sure where I would cut, but it definitely wouldn't be photography and video. Actually, on of the peeves I have is the cost of the cake...which, more than half the time people don't really eat.

Re: Photography on a budget
i love patken, and they are more affordable than i thought.
... photo and video should be on highter priority because those are the two things that once your day is over you'll still have, and you dont want to be having a photographer who misses important shots, takes blurry pics, etc... Very important, wherever you go, pick the photographer and put it in your contract because there are some places where one out of ten photographers is good(mostly in the cheaper photo places), they'll show you the the one good photographer then you'll end up with another..

Re: Photography on a budget
I am not sure if you are looking for both video and photography from the same place but if not definately check out Bellarino for video. Phil is wonderful and will work with you giving enough money in for your budget to get your photographer.
