So I finally got in touch with OWG and as I suspected the gardens are closed for photography on our wedding day (BOOO!!). They did recommend The Planting Fields in Oyster Bay. I checked out the website and it seems alright and its about 12 miles (24 mins on mapquest) from Jericho Terrace.
Dos anyone know anything about this place?? Been there? Seen wedding photography done there?

It's beautiful! Defintely look into it carefully though I think they are pretty strict about where on the grounds you can take your pics and I'm sure they charge a fee.

My friend took pictures there a few weeks ago for her wedding... it was beautiful but when the limos arrived, there was something being filmed there. Planting field gave the bride and groom a small area to work with and they had to be REALLY quiet. This was a surprise to her, they never even gave her a heads up.

thanks.....the website looks pretty - do you know if they took pictures indoors as well as outdoors? we are getting married in december and incase its freezing and/or raining we'd like to find a place that allows indoor photos as well.....

they have a greenhouse that is heated and i think the fee is only $150 thats where we are taking our pics , i have been there it is beautiful

i saw a pic online of the greenhouse in december and it looked really pretty. i guess i will have to call and get some information - especially about how many locations on the grounds they will allow you to take pictures.....do you think a 25 minute ride to the RH is too far? we are taking pictures before the ceremony - and the ceremony will be at the RH.....

I dont think its too far at all, ill probably be doing the same thing, :)
Try posting this on the 07 board or BHB to get more hits from past brides. Maybe someone can post some pics of there wedding for you. HTH
