We met with one choice of photographers. everyone was very nice and discussed everything in details, but we're not sure on the price. the basic package was: $2995 for 50 pic album, 2 parent albums 18 pics, and extra photos and thanks yous. there was a binding fee of $600-1200 depending on which type we use. and the video was $1995 with included 3 dvds and the raw footage. I kinda thought the binding fee would have been included in the package. can anyone tell me if i'm getting ripped off. I'd appreciate your photographer recommendations and a ball park figure of what they're charging you. Thanks for the help.

i deff wouldnt book.
we are getting 95 image album all proofs in album about 9 engarements from 11X14 to 5X7 125 thank you cards eshoot epic album mini epic album all photos on CD
all that for a hair over 3K
Video we are doing raw footage for now and guarenteed edit later on, all day from 730 am to 630 pm
for 1K

I haven't heard of a binding fee...that is a bit odd.
How many hours will the photographer and videographer be with you?
We are using Photography by Christos ...his prices have changed since I booked him, but he's in your price range. Best of all, his customer service is AMAZING!! Check out his main website and blog to see samples of his work, and MY ALBUM has pics of our engagement photo session.
For videography, we're using Bellarino Productions ...Phil & Kate have been great to work with so far, and they offer various packages at different price points.

i thought that a binding fee was normal- but i'm glad you're telling me otherwise. he didn't call it a binding fee- it's the fee to put photos in the book or make up the books based on the type of spread we use- like digital. but this is why we shop around. i'll take more suggestions and advice. Thanks!

Binding fee??? Thats kind of weird, I would try to negotiate that.
Also, ask what the proofs come in? And how many pics they take?

we are paying 2600 for : 12 hr - 1 photographer 1300 proofs (high resolution) - 2 cd's 10 portraits at 8x10 online gallery 200 pictures - never expires album 10x16 the really thick one - 40 pgs / 20 layouts - around 70-80 pictures
