Photography Question

For brides who are getting married at the reception hall AND seeing FH before hand in order to get the pictures done BEFORE the ceremony .... How many hours before are your photographers asking to start?

We are getting married at 6 pm and taking ALL pictures before the ceremony. Our photographer mentioned starting at 2:45-3:00 in the afternoon. Does that sound a little early to you? How many hours are you all setting aside for pictures.

Re: Photography Question

i am getting married at 6:30, i figure we'll leave our respective starting points at 3pm, get to the arboretum at 3:30 ish, take pics, and head to the hall. leaves enough time to make sure things at the RH are running smoothly and i can relax

Re: Photography Question

Ok great! Thank you everyone for responding. FH and I were a little concerned because due to the time the photographer wants to start- our make up and hair vendors want to start really early.

I understand their need to start so early-because they need enough time to get everyone done in time for pictures. But I'm afraid we won't look nice and fresh for the wedding by that time.

Our make up and hair vendors are starting at 930-10 am and our pictures are starting at 2:45-3:00 and our ceremony isnt starting until 6 pm. Does that sound about right to everyone? And do you think are make up is still going to look nice by tht time (and last until 1 am?).

Re: Photography Question

I also had the same concern! We were thinking we would do another location besides the reception hall, but then we would have to rent limos....and frankly...we are on a tight budget...and also, if we were to go to the beach, I don't want to get my dress dirty, and my hair messed up (you know what the salt air does to hair). But, how are we suppossed to occupy this photographer for so much time? Not to mention, unless there isn't a party before us at our RH, we can't get there until one hour before, which is 6 p.m.. But, as of right now, there isn't an afternoon wedding.

So...yeah...we are in the same position.

Re: Photography Question

Our ceremony starts at 11:30 am so we are seeing each other at the hall at 9:00 am. We can't get in any earlier.

Take advantage of the extra time to get all of you pictures done without going crazy.

Re: Photography Question

Thanks! I am not worried about waking up early or being there early or anything else. Just feel like our make up won't last AND I don't want to feel like I have to cake on tons of make up in order for it last all day *(I'm not a make up person at all).

If make up starts at 9:30-10 in the morning and our wedding is from 6 pm-1 am ... Is our make up going to still look fresh that whole time?
