Photography Regret

Original post by Tippy

Im new to the site :)!! I have been looking around searching topics for awhile, but can't seem to find the answer to this question.

So I booked a photographer(***** Photography) and signed the contract. I have booked the Hall, DJ, Makeup and I feel fine, but with the photographer I booked I feel like I maybe made an impulsive decision and don't feel as confident as I do with my other vendors.

I keep researching other photographers wishing maybe I should have looked around a little more.

Any advice? Similar situations? or experience with this photag?

Thanks

Thanks Girls! I would love to see your e pics when you get them done! I need to feel comfy. Are you girls doing video with them?

Im definitely going to go and look at some albums especially if I am stuck.

Why can't I be a guy and not care about the small stuff?

Photos are definately not the small stuff - so you have every right to be worried :) Hope it works out for you!

I went through a phase for a couple of weeks where I was unsure about our photographer. The best thing I ever did was talk to the photographer in person about how I was feeling, and the whole company made me so much more confident about my decision. I felt so much better after that, and we SO glad we stuck with them! Talk to your photographer...if you still feel uncomfortable after that, then reevaluate.

my friend used j o v o n, and was very happy with the result. she didn't want photojournalistic though - she was looking for more traditional and that's exactly what she got.

Take it from someone who thought the SAME thing and didn't change photographers, LISTEN TO YOUR GUT!!! If you think that maybe you should look around and get a different photographer DO IT! I kept thinking that I should cancel my photographer and go with someone I felt more comfortable with but I never did. I gave my photographer a must take list and he didn't follow all of it! It was my wedding day and he irritated me and it was just horrible. I got my proofs back and people's eyes are closed, DH isn't looking at the camera is some of them and I have about 4 pictures I can choose from for a thank you which is RIDICULOUS!

PLEASE LISTEN TO YOUR GUT! Photographer is the one thing I would say spend the money and get one you are SUPER happy with! These are the memories you will have to look back on!

I am using J O V O N photography. David is our main photographer. We are obsessed with him! He is amazing and so super nice. He took our engagement photos and I could not be more happy! But if you do not feel comfortable with them, then you should definitely shop around.

I have David as well and he is AWESOME! I was a little uneasy with them for a while too. But once I saw my E-pics, I knew I made the right decision. The price is steep, but what you get is worth it!!

i feel the same way about our photographer, not because i think i made an impulsive decision but because i'm not sure if they are going to really be able to capture a more photojournalistic touch to the pictures that i want. i saw a couple of albums and i feel better about it, sut still...

I saw that you choose Aldo i have been in 6 weddings that have used them and they always came out great..i didnt want to use them because i know they tend to be over priced )JMO) but your getting great pics

If you have doubts, GET OUT. I had doubts about my photographer, but ignored them. I would have lost my 700 deposit and felt it wasnt worth it to switch. Now I will never be able to get those moments back.
I met with duet too, and I didnt like the guy I met with. He was pushy and rubbed me the wrong way.. so I went against them. I will always regret that.

Re: Photography Regret

Everyone is right....the gut is telling me something for a reason. Still no phone call back from J O V O N. I was told I would get a call back yesterday. So once again that kind of reinforces my apprehension.

Everything works out in the end.
