Photography Regret

Photography Regret

Im new to the site :)!! I have been looking around searching topics for awhile, but can't seem to find the answer to this question.

So I booked a photographer(***** Photography) and signed the contract. I have booked the Hall, DJ, Makeup and I feel fine, but with the photographer I booked I feel like I maybe made an impulsive decision and don't feel as confident as I do with my other vendors.

I keep researching other photographers wishing maybe I should have looked around a little more.

Any advice? Similar situations? or experience with this photag?

Thanks

i know Jovan.

He does very good work, you just have to keep on top of him and make sure he knows exactly what you want. create a must take list. He is one of those guys that thinks his stuff dont stink, but he does great work.

you will be fine

Re: Photography Regret

if you're not happy with your photographer then I would go over the contract and see how much it would cost you to get out of it

Photography is super important, you will have it FOREVER and you will look back on it for years with your family, kids, etc.

The photographer is also the person you will be with allllllllll day. If you don't click with them you're stuck by their side on the most important day of your life. If youre not happy with the photog it might end up showing in your pics

Im not trying to scare you but rather give you honest advice.

What is it that you don't like? they style of photography? or the personality of the photog?

I would research my options if I was in your shoes

must cousin used j o v a n for his wedding in 2006 and they were very happy with their pictures.

from what i remember, they were on the more expensive side though.

I think if you are not sure about it you should probably look into other vendors first. Decide who you want, make sure they have your date available. Then see if you can get out of the contract.

I agree, photography and video is extremely important, and you want to make sure you get something you dont regret in the future.

What is it about the decision that is bothering you? Why the regret...

If you're not a 100% satisfied I would be honest with the vendor and try to get your deposit back. He still has enough time to book another wedding. We loved our photographer and knew right away she was the right person for us. If you are looking for a different photographer try Jayd Gardina!

I am using J O V O N photography. David is our main photographer. We are obsessed with him! He is amazing and so super nice. He took our engagement photos and I could not be more happy! But if you do not feel comfortable with them, then you should definitely shop around.

Re: Photography Regret

J*ovan isn't actually my main photog. I met with him and liked him very much, but he assigned us Dan as our main photog and mark as our secondary. Im looking for a more photojournalistic style and I looked up the photographer he assigned me who happens to have his own website and his photos are so so.

I think im uneasy because I didn't meet with the photographer himself so im kind of in the dark in addition to his personal wesbite which looks whatever to me.

I also researched the studio and have read mix reviews.

If I decide to get out of contract the deposit is refunded in a credit to the studio.

I just don't want to be dwelling on photography all the way up until November. Thats a long time to be worrying.

See if you can switch to David! One of my girlfriends booked with him shortly after we did, and one of my bridesmaids is scheduling an appt. to meet with him soon. He is great!!!! VERY photojournalistic! In fact, he refuses to do the 'main' portraits, because he prefers to be in the background taking the more artsy, edgy shots.

To clarify, there are 2 photographers, so one of them will capture all of the classic wedding portraits :)

i feel the same way about our photographer, not because i think i made an impulsive decision but because i'm not sure if they are going to really be able to capture a more photojournalistic touch to the pictures that i want. i saw a couple of albums and i feel better about it, sut still...

My friend (above heheheh...Hey Cass!) has J o v O N , I dont know the photgraphers or anything but have only heard amazing things, my sister is also booked with them! I dont want you to feel like you made a bad decision...but I have seen a lot of pictures and let me tell you, when I saw my friends engagement pics I almost cried!!!!! They are sooo amazing and unique.... why dont you go back there and try to get comfortable with the idea of being with them? It would stink to have to pay a fee to get out of the contract.... My sister is getting her e - pics done really soon and I can always send them to you if you want!! HTH

Exactly this! Especially if you are having a lot of doubts, it's some time until November - you want to make sure you get rid of any worries now. Especially photography - which in my opinion is very important.

Goodluck!
