Hi everyone - I need a favor. Someone my mother works with is looking for a photographer for her parents' 50th anniversary party. She is looking for someone with a photojournalistic style. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks!
P.S. - Imagine is already booked for the date and Mark Kaufman is a bit too expensive for her. I already told her to check out Something in Blue.

Re: Photojournalism
I would call Creative Compositions and ask them whether or not Ruth would be able to a job like this. She is sooo talented. They are generally a pricey studio, but she isn't one of their primary photographers/co-owners and perhaps if its at a time a wedding in unlikely to be booked they will cut you a deal. She was the photojournalist at my wedding, and her photographs were so beautiful. She took some gorgous photographs of my great-grandmother who passed away a few month later. Those pictures are priceless to me.

How about www.laurierhodes.com - I don't know if the prices listed are same for weddings vs. other occasions. Also, perhaps alfonse pagano studio?

Re: Photojournalism
I highly recommend Susan Francy. She works on her own and came highly recommended to me from a friend (my friend has the most unbelievable wedding photos), soSusan will be taking our wedding pictures. Her web site is susanfrancyphotographs.com
She's also great to work with -- a straight shooter, not selly.
I also sent you Forum Mail.
Good luck!

Re: Photojournalism
I would call Mark about an hourly rate. He is expensive if you need 2 photographers, albums etsc... but for the party all they really need are a few hours, proofs and an enlargement or two.

Re: Photojournalism
Hi Michelle - She already met with Mark. He said they would charge her an hourly rate and then, in addition, per proof. I did, however, tell her he was worth it. Their work is amazing.
