Photoshop

I think I need to get this program. Where can I get the best deal? What version is best? I've never used it before, it is pretty user friendly?

I have it and I find it very simple to use, although I am still learning stuff as I go.

What are you using it for? Photoshop usually runs about $600, but if you're looking for a program for personal projects, and nothing too complicated, you could get Photoshop elements for under $100. It's very much like photoshop, but it doesn't include some of the more complicated elements. Right now there is something on Amazon for a mail in rebate for elements, so that might be a good place to buy it.

I am able to do a few basic things in PhotoShop, but I know I have not even scraped the surface as far as it's possibilities. I think most people don't use 1/10 of what it is capable of. If the $ is an issue, go with something a little simpler.

if you're going to get photoshop, get 7.0. it's the most recent and most advanced version. i'm taking a class in it right now

I got a copy free with my scanner. I think it is only Photo Elements, but I havne't been able to hook it up yet

I teach photoshop at work, and let me tell you... the simple things are just that.. simple.. but... the program is SO powerful, it can get overwhelming at times!!!

I think its a great program, but if you only need it to do some minor image editing at home, I would recommend going with a simpler and less expensive program!

*if you have your heart set on photoshop, please don;t let me discourage you, just realize it is so much more powerful than most people need!!*

If you want you can get Photoshop Elements-which is much cheaper and gets the same job done!

Photoshop is a highend graphic design program. You are better off using a basic photo program. I went to school for two years and still don't know everything about it.
