Photo/Video- Better to book with same company or different...
Ok.. I still haven't booked my photo/video yet.. so far it is the most annoying part!
I loved JOvan and Creative COmp. but we just bought a house and thier prices are too high for right now.
Franklin Square was really good- I loved thier pics but not crazy about how they set up thier albums and even thier video....
Going to check out Patken and Verdi this week.
Anyway- some people have been telling me to get someone who specializes is videos only..... What do you think...

It seems to me that it is better to book both with the same company. It made more sense to us. And they usually cut you a better deal that way. They work together.

I booked Patken for both. They gave us a really good deal, plus i've heard it's better to bok the same because this way they get along with each other and are not trying to compete for space. I don't know how true this is though!!

When I first started looking I was insistent on booking both at the same place, but when I went to places, I found that I wasn't happy with their videos since that is not their specialty. I went with John Morelli in Hicskville and I booked him without even meeting him. (One of my friends used him) Check out his samples on his website. They are awesome.

We booked with Leli Photo and Video .We found them to be the best price wise and creativly Give them a call the owner Gary is our Photgrapher. 631 862 1941 Good Luck

We are using Duet for both photography and video. We found we were able to get a better price by going with the same vendor for both.

I went with two different companies because i just figured photographers are great at their thing and videographers should be separate. My photographers videographer wasnt that impressive at all either. But i know a bunch of companies on this board that have great packages for both.

I booked with 2 different places...Glenmar for photography and Wild Rose for video. I was told that just because a photography studio is good doesn't necessarily mean their videos will be good. It's best to check both out and see for yourself.

We aren't doing video but at least 10 of my friends told me if I was going to book with the same company because they didn't and both were competing for space with one another. With the same company they are used to working with each other and can anticipate the others moves. Also cheaper and more room for negotiation on price.

we booked with seperate photo (Marco) and video (Timeless Treasures). We weren't that impressed with the video package that Marco provided-so we went with someone else, and it actually ended up costing us less!

Also Check out Duval, in Wantagh. They are super nice, and their video was the BEST I ever saw! it was awesome! Their pictures are excellent also! They were very accomidationg with our budget when we went in there, and made up a package that had what WE wanted in it. Check them out.

Same here. As a matter of fact my photographer and videographer have worked together quite often at different weddings. Quite a few of them have been LIW brides.
