(PIC) Kitten that was abandoned...up for adoption!

Several weeks ago I posted about a litter of kittens who were abandoned in front of my DHs animal hospital. Well, all the kittens were adopted except this one.

I feel bad because it's all alone now.

If anyone is interested please FM me for info.

There's also an adult cat who's been living in a cage for quite some time...it's not getting adopted so fast because it's not a cute kitten, but the cat is soooo sweet! Whenever I go up to it's cage, the cat just purrrrsss and looks for love!

Im looking for an adult male cat..a companion for my already older cat. Im going to look at the shelter by me to see what they have( I live in NJ). That cat you describe..do you know how old he is? Is he fixed? Declawed??

Yes it's fixed, I'm pretty sure declawed as well.

I'll get all the info for you this evening and FM you. He's healthy and up to date on all vaccines.

The cat is so sweet and loving, I just feel so bad that he (I think it's a he...i'll double check) hasn't been adopted. All the little cute kittens go first, and he just sits there, waiting for someone to want him! He always smushes his head against the cage bars because he wants you to pet him. I'll find out the age as well.

what happened to the pug that just had puppies???

The kitten is so cute. The grown cat is beautiful. TRy placing an ad on petfinders. You might have more luck. I have placed several ads there for the animal shelter I volunteer for(animals cna't talk in Queens, NY).

I just called my DHs office:

it's a male, he's 2 years old, very calm.
He's not declawed, but that's something my DH could do.

The pug was finally spayed and I think she's in a home where she's the only dog (I have to check this...things have been so busy, I haven't really looked around for her at the hospital, but I think that's what DH told me...either that or he's in the process of finding her a home where she's the only dog).

She's very very very playful and rambunctious, so other dogs get a little freaked out by her hyped up nature.

I hope the adult finds a home! Would be great if a fellow LIW bride took him in! I bet the kitten will be adopted in no time.

I adopted two adults (one I took off the street, and one rescued from Last Hope in '97.) I also have one I got as a kitten. I sort of wish I didn't already have a full house- I'd be glad to take either of them! Hope they get good homes.

Dh and I are looking to adpot a dog. Does anyone have any recommedations as to where we should go? We want to go to a shelter.

we don't have dogs, but if anyone wants a cat go to animals can't talk in queens, NY.

Oh..hes a cutie!!! I found a cat by me, hes three, declawed ..the problem is we cant get him from the shelter until next week, we are gone until 8 pm and are gone for the 4th..so it wouldnt be right to bring a new cat here and let him fend for himself. The cat Im looking at may be gone by the time we get back...if thats the case..I may consider coming to Port jefferson. My heart goes out to that little cat. Dh have alot of love to give him..he would be in a good home!!! What does your Dh charge to have them declawed? What is the adoption fee? How far is Port Jefferson? Im sorry..Im not familiar with all of Long Island. I am interested though. Does your Dh know how the cat is around children? We dont have any yet, but are hoping too have them in the near future! Thanks for the information!!

Kathy..I couldnt stop thinking about that cat! I guess I need to know more about him.....I guess there are a few questions I have...mostly is he good with other animals? I do have a cat, shes a wonderful sweet loving cat, shes 15 next week! I checked mapquest and port Jefferson would take me an hour and a half without traffic..so realistically two hours with traffic or longer. Im right in the middle of two crazy summer classes..plus work..so my schedule is crazy..what are the shelter's hours? Thats a big one..I may not be able to get there while the shelter is even open. Im just considering this to see if I have options..my heart breaks for that cat in his cage wanting to be pet so bad! All because you showed me his picture!!!

The cat is at my DH's hospital..but I think it's a Save A Pet cat...

The cat's name is Henry.

You'd have to contact Save A Pet for the further information, and if you want to adopt him, contact them and tell them your situation, that you are driving a distance.
