Pic of the animal that hangs out in my yard

This isn't the best picture, because the sun was going down, and the glass was reflecting our bird cage...but anyways....

does anyone know what animal this is? I would've sworn it was a prairie dog, but this animal is at least 30 lbs. It is HUGE!!! Bigger than my pugs! My FI says prairie dogs aren't that big.

He's been living around our yard for the past 3 years...he's comes around, eats the weeds in our flower beds...and he's so cute!!!!

he's got two really cute, big buck teeth...like a beaver...but he doesn't have that beaver tail...his tail is short with fur. His fur also looks very course...any ideas?

I can't see him...could it be a possum? they are common on LI...

He's at the bottom left corner of the pic, like he's standing for a profile. I know, it's a tough pic...but he's a cutie

No, def. not a possum, but I've seen them in the yard too...they have a longer nose/snout.

Next time he comes in the yard, I'll get another pic.

Could it be a woodchuck? They have teeth like a beaver, and are also common on LI.

I just did a search on woodchucks...and that's him!!!!!!! Here's exactly what he looks like (this is from a woodchuck website, but it could be his double!!!!)... thanks for all your help!!!

YAY, we have our own resident woodchuck!!

I can't tell, does its ears stick up at all? or are they flush to its head, like the woodchuck? It looks like a woodchuck, but it looks like it may have big ears, which would mean it is not a woodchuck.

I'm a dork...but I have to post some more pics of Chuckie (my new name for him)...I came back, so I went a little nutso with my camera....

I also found out why some of my plants have half eaten leaves (I thought it was the insects)...there's like three rabbits in the yard right now. I love it. I'm such an animal lover!
