Picked up my hair clips yest.... Just thought I'd share :-)
I picked up my hair clips (I'm not wearing a tiara) yesterday and love them. I got them handmade by Susan Hoxie - they were featured in Brides and are actually in Martha Stewart's wedding this month. They are beautiful! Just thought I'd mention it in case anyone was interested in flower clips for their hair, but couldn't find it.
Her website is www.susanhoxie.com and she also has her clips on www.perfectdetails.com

Hey Cira -
Which one did you get?? They are all nice! How did you decide to just use clips? I'm confused about what to do with my hair. I'm not a big tiara person... I was thinking of having a crown of babies breath or something like that made. Who are you using for your hair?

Tracyann ...
I saw a picture in Bride's with the hair clips and just feel in love with them. I've been seeing them all over now and am glad that I contacted Susan to do them. I got 7 clips in total - a big flower, 2 med, 2 small, 2 sprigs! I'm wearing my hair, weather permitting, half up/half down and straight. If not good weather (my hair curls) and I'm wearing a messy curly updo. I didn't want a traditional wedding style, cause it's not me, and I want to be as natural (and trendy) as I can be!
I went to four different hairsytlists - can you believe that?! I have another trial tonight with this woman that I liked - a friend of my mom's hairdresser. I'll let you know how that goes. I just think hair and makeup are really important and if I can spend $2K on a dress, then a $150 or so on trials is worth it until I'm truly happy! I need to feel comfortable that the person doing my hair will do a great job and plus since I'm not doing the traditional styles - I've been finding it hard to find someone to do them for me - all the hairdressers, except the one tonight, does the banana curls, which are beautiful, but not me! I'm using Laura for my makeup and love her!

Hey Cira
Let me know how it goes. I'm getting married in Southampton and need to find someone good who will travel. Who is Laura, the make up woman? Where is she located? Does she travel?? Good luck tonight!!

My trial was awesome! :-)
She was wonderful - we did three styles - all came out gorgeous - but I think I'm going with a sort-of messy updo with the clips in front. It was so great - what a relief.
Tracyann - the only thing is that AnnMarie (the girl who did my hair) lives in Nassau area and will only travel in the vicinity. Laura, is the girl who is doing my makeup and she lives in Bellemore and will only travel about an hour, she said.
I'm sorry that you won't be able to use them, they are great! :-) I'm so happy and it has taken my four hairstylists to finally be really happy! Do a post on the board - someone may know someone who will travel further out!
