Picking MOH

Ok here is my problem. I have a next door neighbor that is 3 years older then I am. My parents have known her family since she was 6 months old. Her parents moved in 3 months after my parents so as u can see we have always been Close. When I was 15 and she was 18 she got pregnant and got married for that reason (she is now divorced) I was suppose to be in the wedding went to look at dresses and then we had a fight and I was KICKED out of the wedding and not even invited (doesnt bother me in the least) Bothers my FH. But we dont really hang out like we use to. we still see each other in passing but thats about it. we might have the occasional hey im going to the store wanna run with me.....WE are still friends and I want her in Bridal party but.... Not as my MOH. Lately she has been righting me online and asking me if i have decided on a moh yet cause there are showers and bachlorette parties to be planned. The truth is that I really want to have my Friend my MOh who has been there for me (mike and I broke up for a short time and she took me out MADE me g out all the time) and we even work together. The 2 of them dont really get along and I am affraid my long time friend will be mad at me, if I choose this fairly new friend ( I was about 17 when we became friends) over her for my MOH! I know u guys are gonna say u can make everyone happy and its my day and I should do what I want but Im really Stuck bout this I dont know what to do.

Re: Picking MOH

I had similar problems picking my MOH. The day after I got engaged I went to my 'best' friends house to ask her to be my MOH. The only thing she said to me was 'How big is your ring?' No 'congrats' or anything like that. I didn't ask her and it's a good thing, I don't even talk to her anymore.
I have been engaged for a year and a half, and didn't pick my bridal party until last week. (I'm still not done). I picked the person who helped me the most, and was genuinely happy for me. She came with me everywhere, to get the dress, to pick out BM dresses (before she even knew she was a BM), to pick out invites, to trials, etc.....
I have only known her for 2 years, and we've only gotten close during the past year.
You need to pick who you want, and if anyone questions it you're NOT obligated to state your reasons. If you truly can't decide, have 2 MOH's. I know it's cliche, but it's YOUR day! Don't try to please anyone, you'll only end up making yourself miserable!

Re: Picking MOH

Thanks Joanna. I wanted to have FSIL as my Matron of honor and Friend as my Maid of honor. Im just worried about my friends feelings getting hurt cause I really think she feels like she 'shoud' be my MOH!

Re: Picking MOH

The person who should be your MOH is the person you want to be the MOH, not who wants to be your MOH...

Laurie I totaly agree with u but i dont want hurt feelings. I dont know what to do. The 2 girls I am talking about are not the best of friends which makes it harder!
