picking up proofs-advice

Hi Ladies,

I need some advice. My wedding pics are finally ready!! However, I am paying for them in cash per our agreement with our photographer.
I live in MD, and won't be in town for another couple of days, so my sis is going to pick up the pictures for me and make the final payment. My mom raised the point that I might be making a big mistake by paying the photographer the final payment in cash without seeing all of the proofs.

Past brides when you made your final deposit did you go through all the proofs with the photographer?

I have only heard wonderful things about my photographer. My instincts tell that if I am not happy about something, they will do their best to rectify things.
I could wait until I get to NY and make the final payment myself, but to make a long story short DH won't be able to see the pics over the holidays if I do it this way. Part of the reason why I am so pressed is that I want him to be able to see them.
Would it be a mistake to not go and pick them up myself? Or am I worrying about nothing?

If you love the work of your photographer and your epics and you know they have a good rep-I would say let your sister pick them up. You said that you think they would correct any problems if it were needed. I know if it were me, I would be dying to see the proofs! (and would want DH to see them too)

I agree and if they are a LIW vendor you can just tell us all so we can harass them too for you

Thanks, for the advice ladies. So, I feel much better. My mom went and picked up the pics and they said they were beautiful. My photographer was also kind enough to call me and follow up with me after my mom left, so I feel okay about everything!
