PICS ARE UP!! Might have found THE place! But...

It's an inn in Connecticut - a two and a half / three hour drive away. Everyone who comes would have to stay the night. But the inn is gorgeous! And not too much money. And it's in the Berkshires, so there is a ton of stuff to do right there - boating, swimming, golf, hiking, biking, fishing, kayaking... it's perfect, really. It would be a vacation for everyone - with a cool wedding right in the middle. It's exactly the kind of wedding I want. I'm only having 70 people - our closest friends and family. Considering all that... is it obnoxious to ask people to travel up to 3 hours for my wedding?

**Update: I added pics to my albums. The place we loved best is the Wake Robin Inn, the 2nd album. I didn't photgraph it as much as the other one. Oops. Anyway, check it out!!**

the place is gorgeous, very elegant. Think of it this way, plenty of people make their guests get on a plane to come to their wedding, ur just asking them to come to a wedding that is a mere car ride away.

Thanks, really, everyone. You all put my mind at ease. I think it's special when you drive up to a place and immediately you think: 'this is IT.' But that's what I had with this inn. I'm so excited to go back! I'm really going to have to work sooooo hard to play it cool so I can bargain with them a bit on the price...

Not obnoxious at all...I'm flying 3 hours to go to my cousin's wedding. Have you thought of renting one (or two) of those huge limo buses? They hold a lot of people so you could have everyone come in that then people don't necessarily need to stay over and you also don't have to worry about people driving home.

Thanks for the idea, but everyone is coming from so many different places - California, New Hampshire, Philadelphia, Long Island, Manhattan, New Jersey - I don't think there's any one group large enough to rent a limo bus for. But! You got me thinking . . . maybe I'll rent a limo for me and the bridal party to ride up to Connecticut in style, and not have to deal with traffic and get all frustrated the day before my wedding. I think that sounds like fun.
