Pics before the Ceremony?

Original post by sandybeaches115

Hey everyone!

What's your thoughts on doing pictures with FH and the bridal party before the ceremony??? I'm a bit traditional so Im not sure about this idea but being that I'm getting married at the RH and then the ceremony goes right into cocktail hour I would like to not miss most of the CH taking pictures. I heard from my banquet manager that many ppl take pics now before the ceremony so they don't have to miss any part of their wedding. Any thoughts?

We are absolutely taking pics before. We're going to have the photog set up something so that the first meeting is 'special.'

We really want to be able to go to and enjoy our CH with all of our guests!

We're going the traditional route of not seeing each other until the ceremony because that was important to my fiance and me- but we also have time before the reception for photos. One of my friends took photos before and what she and her husband did was spend the first 10 minutes together, completely alone. THEN the photographers and bp and families came in. She told me that those 10 minutes were the most powerful of her life. She said they totally grounded each other before the ceremony, and the 'reveal' of her in her dress was a private and strong moment.
