Pics from a UK wedding

Seb has the digital camera at work today, so he only sent me a few pics from Saturday's wedding in Oxford. You know how I like to keep you all up to date as to weddings here in the UK and I know you all love photos, so here you go. To me this bride looked almost exactly the same as the last one!! I think very straight gowns with a slight flair at the bottom and a cathedral veil are very popular here. Scenery is always beautiful!!

Oh, I would really like to fix the confetti one so that it's not over their faces, but I don't have photoshop on this computer

ETA: Sorry had to resize...ugh!

Re: Pics from a UK wedding

DH is from London and we now live in New York...a friend of his is getting married next year and we're going to the wedding. I can't wait to wear a hat!

Nice pictures. Were they taken outside the church?

Darn, now they're pixelated!!

No they were taken outside the reception, which was at the groom's mother's house in a big field and under a tent (as most UK weddings are). It was pouring rain when they left the church, so unfortunately, they had to wait to take pics, but given the crazy English weather, the sky was gorgeous later on!!

Where did you and your husband meet? My DH was working in NY for a few years and that's when we met. But he was laid off and had to move back. After a long distance thing for a few months, we got engaged and then married 5 months later. We're doing the London thing now so that we can move back to NY later (sorry to all of you who already know this story by heart )

Re: Pics from a UK wedding

Sorry I didn't respond right away...work has been really busy and I haven't checked the boards that much.

DH & I met on the internet. He was working in New Jersey and I was in NY. We met officially in New York City. We dated for about six months before getting engaged.

Before we were engaged/married we threw around the idea of living in London. Since he had only been in the US for just over a year... it was all still new to him and he wanted to stay here. Now I think he wants to move back. He misses his family and all the 'home comforts'. We've talked about moving to the UK, but I've just started grad school and we've spent so much money filing all the paperwork with the INS.
I think he's feeling better now that he's made some friends from England that he can hang out with. It is also difficult because not being able to travel whenever we want to the UK(we have to wait for his green card) makes it hard.
