For those that didnt read my original post, I was supposed to be in Shelter Island from yesterday til Saturday morning. we paid 227 a night PLUS TAX. They gave us a room that could have seriously been a storage closet so we grabbed our things, got a refund, and left. Because of them, were stuck at home. Hotels are all booked and we cant afford to spend over 1000 for the ones that arent booked. FH saved up his vacation days and I feel so bad but theres really nothing we can do. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Check out the pics of the worlds smallest hotel room. (My bedroom at home is bigger)
The pictures were taken from the doorway. Oh and that little window was our oceanview. What we really saw was a rooftop...
thats alot for such a small room....what about going to fire island??

Jersey? Did you look into the Jersey Shore?
I can reccommend a ton of places if you're okay with driving a bit (about 15 minutes outside of AC, and about 30 minutes to Wildwood, Ocean City)

ug that suckks! we rented a room in manhattan once..paid $180 and it was smaller than that one lol ! i feel your pain

I'll take any suggestions. Ive never been to the Jersey Shore and were okay with driving at this point... (We even thought about driving to Florida for a quick minute lol thats how desperate we were)

When we went to the Jersey Shore, we stayed at Studio Inn and Suites...... it's really nothing special, but, the room was decent size and clean..... it also had a small kitchen, with a fridge, sink and two burners. That was great, because we brought a lot of food with us. It is located in Absecon.
And, you can probably get decent deals at any casino for now through friday. You might be able to get a room at any of the casinos for $99/night or less.
Try Harrah's, Showboat, Bally's, Tropicana, in that order, I think that should be about how the prices fall.
There was a Marriott golf resort we stayed in which was beautiful, old, victorian-ish.... just really nice. It was called, I believe, Marriott Sea View.

I tried all of those hotels The only one that was available for three nights was the Tropicana but it would have come out to over 1000 just for hotel. Plus dinner and everything we would probably end up spending close to 2000 and we really cant do that. I checked Travelocity, Expedia, Orbitz, and I called all the hotels. We were thinking of just going to AC for the day and then going to the hotels and seeing how much they would be just for the night there. Thank you for the suggestions!

I'm really surprised! They're usually really cheap during the week.
Oh, try the Days Inn.... it is RIGHT NEXT to the Trop, and not bad. I've stayed there a few times.

i was gonna recommend ocean city...FH is going labor day weekend for a softball tournament...they paid about $209 a night after taxes.

Did you try anything in DC? It;s not too far a drive and there are tons of hotels to try. Same thing for Philadelphia.
