what is a goumbari??

I feel like it's a silly question, but I dont know what it means and I have heard that term before.

hahah, sorry I am just so used to saying that. In a Greek Orthodox wedding the goumbari are people that you choose to crown you, they are either your best friends or family. There is prob a better meaning but dont know
