Picture location, is it a waste?

well girls im getting married REALLLY SOON!!! and i have the dreaded feeling that its going to be pouring rain! it prob. wont but i just have a feeling...it did for my parents wedding and that just seems to be my luck...

Any who.. i called Atlantis Marine World (the aquarium) to see if i would be able to take pics inside there if my feeling holds true, and they said sure no prob. its $250.00 i personally think its a great investment and well a good insurance that no matter what ill have great pics!

But the thing is the RH is in Rocky point and the aquarium is in riverhead.. its only about 20 mins between the 2 places. so if it rains we have plenty of time.. if its nice.. we prob wont since we will want to take pictures outside at the RH...

So my question is. would you spend the 250.00 to have the reasurance that you will DEF. have a nice place to take pictures no matter what??? Cuz if you dont go obviously you will loose the money.

Please help.. i need to pitch the idea to FH.. im sure he will say whatever you want to do.. but i need to know what you girls think!

THANKS!

Re: Is this a waste or a good investment!

i think taking pictures at the aquarium is a great idea!! i love aquariums and love fish and i would loooove to take pictures by tanks and stuff.

but even if it was nice out i would still go to the aquarium...itll be different and unique. if ur not attending ur cocktail hour maybe you can take pics at the RH then?

Wow that is a really cool idea !!! Wish we would have the time to do that. We are just going to the harbor front in Port Jeff where we live before the wedding.....hoping with allmy heart that we'll have good weather . FH & I met in Port and live there so it was the perfect choice for us.

thats def. enough time. you figure you take only 45 minutes to an hour at the aquarium and and another hour at the RH.

we are taking pics at Old Westbury Gardens

I am guaranteed to take pics there rain or shine
they have an indoor location inside the mansion

I think it cost $315, IMHO it was worth it, FH never even questioned it.

I think that if your RH's grounds (in and out) aren't beautiful enough for you to get tons of different pictures, then go for it. I know that within my RH and on its grounds there are tons of photo ops....I don't need anymore outdoorsy pics than I'll get at my RH, so that's what made me decide NOT to go elsewhere. Plus, I DID NOT under any circumstance want to see FH before 'I Do', so it wasn't feasible to go elsewhere.

I agree. I would do it!! You can always take some nice outdoors pics at RH and house, etc as well if the weather is nice the day of.

Peace of mind is priceless. On your wedding it is necessary. I would definitely go with photo site.

To ease your mind, I say go for it.,

But since the aquarium is a pretty big place, did you ask if you can just come THAT day to book it? Like if it was raining that day - could you call up, give them the $250 on the spot and take your pics? Or must it be booked in advance? I'm thinking since its an aquarium and you won't have to fight for space, it may be an option?

Thanks so much for all your posts girls... and to answer your question the person i spoke to said we do have to book it in advance.. Which means..like NOW for us.. cuz im running out of time! just didnt know if it was a waste! i just have to call the limo people and make sure they can take us that far.

Re: Picture location, is it a waste?

I would do the $250 to ensure that you have pictures. Even if you are a few minutes late to the CH it's not a huge deal because you are not being announced then you know. So I say go for the $250.

I think it's definitley a unique place to have photos taken- imo I think the $250.00 would be worth spending.

Also if you plan on going to your CH then make sure that you have plenty of time before to take the photos.
