So, turns out our church and venue are both in Massapequa. We have about 2 1/2 hrs for bridal party pictures and don't want to stray too far.
I'm not very familiar with that area, but would love some suggestions for picture locations. Ideally we'd like to find a beach to use, but would also like some alternative spots, including an indoor place in case the weather is bad.

could you head to jones beach? its only about 20 minutes from massapequa. down in massapequa park there may be docks and stuff but not sure if you'd be allowed on them, might need some clearance on that.
as for indoors..there isnt much i can think of...do you not like the inside of your hall? maybe go to a nearby hotel? there arent too many in the area though

Sure, do you have a suggestion of an arboretum in the area? I am from the Huntington area and am much more familiar with stuff around there.

Well, our venue won't be open to us until 5:30/6 as there is a wedding before ours, so I'm not sure that's enough time for pictures. Hmmm, I'll have to call them.

I am originally from Massapequa so should be able to suggest (though I can't remember much) but could you go towards the water, say Biltmore Beach Club? (within Biltmore Shores)--There are marinas down there...

Try Marjorie Post Park - it's in Massapequa, on the corner of Merrick Rd and Unqua Road. I've seen brides take pictures there before.

There is a beautiful path in Mass Park - it's in Brady Park (off of Clark Blvd, just west of Park Blvd). There are bridges with the lake behind - the only problem with it is that there are lots of people walking and biking over there, a photographer may not have enough room.
You could also try Burns Park on Merrick Rd., just west of Unqua Rd. It's very pretty towards the back of the park near the canal.
There is a gazeebo on Broadway near Clark, north of Sunrise hgwy.
