Pictures before Ceremony

Hi Ladies!

My FH and I are taking pictures before the ceremony and I just thought of something. For any of you who plan on taking your pictures before the ceremony are you and FH going to wear your wedding bands for the pictures? I hadn't thought about it before and it just kind of dawned on me! I am thinking we should because I want to be able to see them in the pics. What do you think?

WOW! ya know I never even thought of this before!! I have no clue.. I want mine in the pics too.. but I dont know how I feel about wearing them before the ceremony! grrrr i wish we weren't doing this before the ceremony!

ah crap.... I hadn't thought of that! Part of me agrees with you that it would be nice to see them in the pictures but the other part thinks that we shouldn't wear them until we are technically married.

I'm curious to see other people's opinions.

we won't be wearing the bands during the pics before the ceremony. we will be handling most of hte family and BP shots at that time...and a few romantics.

after the ceremony we'll take a few minutes to get some more romantics with our rings. i mostly wants a more photo journalistic feel rather than all posed shots, so that's why we're not really too concerned about the rings

That;s what I was thinking too! Is it bad luck to wear the rings before the ceremony? I mean I don't really believe in 'that kind of stuff' but still! I don't know what to do! Now I wish I didn't think of it!

i thought of the same thing the other day!!! But i don't think i want to wear them that day until it is all official (even though i am trying it on all the time at home! haha)...i figure people aren't going to notice that much...and after the ceremony i'll be sure to get the close up hand, bouquet ring shots...i think i will also ask my photographer what they think about this one!

Havent thought of it, but have no problem if thats what the photog recommends. Its no different than trying it on like I did when I got it!

We did not wear our rings for the pictures before the ceremony. There are so few shots where your hands will be noticable (especially your ring fingers specifically). I wouldn't worry about putting the rings on before- it might add to the confusion if you forget to take them off, and then you have them on already when you go to put them on each other during the ceremony.
If there are any pics that show your hands, believe me only you will notice. Our thank-you pic you can see our hands and I am the only one who commented 'thats DH's left hand and he's not wearing his ring.' No one else even gave it a thought. So bottom line is: don't worry about it.
After the ceremony, your photog. will take some 'ring' shots.

I never thought of that. Very good question. I have to talk to my FH about that tonight. We were thinking about doing the before thing.

FH had mentioned this to me a long time ago. I don’t want to wear our rings before the ceremony. It is bad enough that we are seeing each other prior to the ceremony to take pictures, but wearing the rings too is just too much IMHO. We might as well just skip the entire damn ceremony

we'll be wearing them for our pics .. i do wear it around the house sometimes hehe.. so im not worried about 'luck' or superstitions
i love both my wed rings... so i def. want them in the pics

So it's probably not even my place to put my two cents in here b/c we opted to not even take pics before the ceremony....


but I imagine it will be such a special moment to slip the band on each other's hands. You can always get some of the more hand specific shots later....
