Pictures before the ceromony - Do you regret doing it or do you wish you had?
my fh and i are still debating whether or not to take our pics at westbury gardens before the ceremony or not. we are both very traditional always imagined seeing each other for the first time when i walked down the isle. but the problem is my wedding is at 5pm in october and after the ceremony it will be dark outside. I REALLY wanted outdoor pics at westbury gardens, especially since my wedding is a fall wedding. what should we do? please help!
if you took your pics before the ceremony - do any of you regret it?
if you didnt take your pics before the ceremony do you wish you had?

we took our pictures before the ceremony and i definitely don't regret it!
i had knots in my stomach the whole morning while i was getting ready, and as soon as I saw steve and got to hug and kiss him... they all went away. also, i felt like i got to see his true reaction, since there weren't 200+ people staring at him.....

I took pic's before hand and it was great. The photograher made it special for us. My husband arrived a couple of minutes earlier than myself and he had his back towards me as I walked towards him with the photographer taking pics of him and myself. When he turned around and we saw each other for the first time.

we did the same thing...i told my DOC i wanted it to be a private moment for us...we had just the photogs & video guy there...we got to enjoy every single moment of our wedding! So glad we did pics before...i used to want that 'moment' seeing each other down the aisle...but to be honest, i hardly remember walking down the aisle...so glad we got to see each other when we were both relaxed. Here i am coming up behind him...

we did pics before the ceremony---and it was one of the BEST decisions that we did for our wedding. our 'reveal' moment was so great and i will never forget it. not to mention we were able to just relax and not be so nervous/emotional during the ceremony.
DH said it calmed his nerves A LOT. you can see the pics in my professional pics album

We Took Our Pictures Before and All I Can Say Is It Was one of the smarties choices we made with the wedding.......No regrets here, just all smiles

I really want to take pictures before hand, but my FH is sooooo againist it. I don't think I can get him to change his mind. I think it would be so much better if we did take them before hand. I think we would have a much better time. Any suggestions to help me sawy him would be WONDERFUL! TIA

I originally didn't want to but we are taking our pics before. The day goes by so fast and espescially since we are having ceremony at RH and then straight into the cocktail hour I really wanted to make sure it was all done ahead of time.

DO IT!
We wanted to but because my family are asinine jerks we got there 2 1/2 hours after I wanted to so had to go staright to ceremony. And as a result in the rush we missed SOOOOO many pics we wanted because by then people were in the hall for other affiars and events and we didnt have the run of the place like we would ahev earlier. Everything was rushed and barely any pics of DH and I. Do it before and spare yourself the headache during the wedding.

we decided we're waiting to see eachother at the ceremony but it seems like SOOO many ppl opt to do it before instead. Sheesh, did anyone else out there wait?? Tell me you think it was a good decision! lol

DH and I waited, but we also had 3 hour delay between the end of the ceremony and the cocktail hour. In that time we went to the Boardwalk, Brooklyn Bridge and took tons of pics in and outside of the church. If I was haveing my ceremony right before the CH, I would DEFINITELY take pics beforehand. I think it loosens any nerves you may have and you'll get those gorgeous fall pics.
Maybe you should show your FH some beautiful outdoor fall wedding pics and let him know that you will NOT be getting any of those shots if you choose to wait. I'll try to find some...

DH & I waited......for me personally I always wanted those doors to open and for Matt to see me as so did he but plenty of people do it and love it! It's more of a personal choice!

We're waiting to see each other. I just love that tradition, its something I've always wanted in my wedding. But we also have about 3 hours in between the ceremony and the CH so we'll have more than enough time for pics, plus it will still be light out. But I can defintely understand why people choose to see each other before hand and do pics. In a lot of cases, its just more practical.

We did-it was just something we both wanted. I dont regret it at all! I loved the anticipation of DH not seeing me until then...I have SO many pictures of us just staring at each other during our ceremony. We also had the 3 hour delay in between so it worked out in our favor. Its apersonal choice

Melissa - the reveal pics are amazing!!! you can feel the emotion on DH's face!!!

We did not take pics before the ceremony and I am glad that I didn't because I , also, like the traditional - don't see me until it's time to be wed!
However, if I was in your situation - I would probably do it just to get those outdoor pics. I think you will regret it if you don't.
After it is all said and done - there are some many things before the wedding that you think are so important but after the wedding were not a big deal at all.
