These are from our excursion to Davidson Glacier in Skagway. We canoed whthin about 600 ft. of the glacier and around these huge icebergs. The cave in the last photo is called blue cave for obvious reasons.
These pics are GORGEOUS! Looks like a wonderful time. I love the pic of the blue cave. I can't show them to DH though because he will be too jealous, he is dying to go to Alaska!

It is a picture of a glacier. The best way to describe a glacier is that it is a river of ice. Glaciers are constantly still moving. This particular one is a receding glacier (most of them are thanks to global warming). The cave was formed through calving (when bits of the glacier fall away from the structure). It appears more blue because it is cleaner then the ice surrounding it so you see the water color coming through more vibrantly.

The average was in the mid-60's. The exceptions were when we were going through the fyords to Sawyer glacier and when we canoed to Davidson glacier. It was pretty cold then. I would guess in the upper 30's to lower 40's.

We have cruised with Norwegian twice and enjoyed both trips. I wish that they had more vegetarian options, but it is that way on any cruise line. DH enjoyed his meals. We liked that we could go to the dining room when we wanted and not at a specific time. You can also choose to eat in one of their specialty restaurants. They had a steakhouse, Japanese and a French bistro. These places charge a $15-$20 cover charge and some also have an ala carte charge also, but I heard great things about them.
