Pictures missed at your wedding?

Pictures missed at your wedding?

I am constantly seeing girls say that when they get back their proofs there were some pictures they wanted, but didnt get.. i.e. .. there is no picture of just the groom and his brother or there were no pictures of the grandparents, or no picture of the ring, no picture of the place cards that you put hours into making.. most recently read on a review 'no picture of fh's face as i walked down the aisle' etc ..

I figured maybe we can start a thread where the wonderful 10'ers help the 11'ers to avoid this !! It makes me nervous
and i am a year away..

If you were lucky and your photog captured every thing you wanted... tell us some pics you are happy were captured.. or things you didn't even think about! Or what was on your requested photo list?

Thanks girls!!!!

it gives me more anxiety NOW than it did as shyt was going wrong to the point where i have no desire to pick up my wedding proofs cuz im just angry.

I have to say that my photographer did an awesome job with getting the pictures we wanted done that day. There were only 2 pics that weren't taken, but it was kind of my fault because I forgot to tell him that I wanted those pictures taken and didn't realize it until I got my proofs

Re: Pictures missed at your wedding?

Okay, so when I started writing this I had no intention of making it this long, but if I can help someone have better memories of their day, then it's worth it. Just so you know, these are not huge issues to me at this point, and I loved my wedding and I love my pictures. I just hope that other girls can learn from my mistakes (some of which are very obvious).

I missed a lot of pictures at my wedding. Basically, there are very few pictures of me and FH...we had way more from our engagement pictures.

Everything was kind of rushed, and the weather was bad, so we ended up taking all the family pictures inside in front of this ugly abstract painting. The most important advice I have is to stay alert, because it's easy to just fall into things when everything is happening really quickly and there are a million people telling you what to do. Other people WON'T notice ridiculousness like this, so you have to!!

This isn't something I would normally miss. I was really obsessed with having good pictures. But when the time came, it just seemed like it was the only choice. Of course, we could have at the very least taken down the painting, and probably could have found a better place to take the pictures.

Also, I would recommend setting aside time between the ceremony and the cocktail hour to take pictures. Our cocktail hour was immediately following our ceremony, and since we didn't want to miss it, we took pictures beforehand. But there wasn't enough time. I wish that we had set aside a real two full hours for pictures. As it was, we had maybe an hour and fifteen, and we were being shepherded between inside and the outside as the weather changed.

Finally, I didn't have a must-take photo list other than the family pictures (and even those, I missed some, including a picture of just both sets of parents). Anyway, since I didn't have any artistic shots written out that I specifically wanted, assuming that the photographer would just naturally get some great pictures. I don't actually have all of my pictures yet, so I don't know whether this is the case, but as far as I know, there were very few artistic shots (at least of me, DH, the close family, and the rings...which we got no pictures of).I also didn't specify which details (favors, cardbox, centerpieces, accent table, etc.) I wanted pictures of, so I'm crossing my fingers that she got those.

Just make a very long list!!! That is the best advice I can give! I decided to wing it, and now I really regret it.

My photog also did a great job but the one thing that was missing was cocktail hour pictures. I had wanted pics of the stations and of the steel drum band and none turned up. I'm guessing it was because he was with us the whole time before CH and by the time it started the food wasn't good for photographing. We also never took a pic with our rings together, but we did get other ring shots so I guess it's okay.

just realized we don't have any cocktail hour photos either! my photogs were with us in the beginning of cocktail hour cause we took some pics outside. then DH & I went to mingle in cocktail hour and our photogs went into the reception room to set up and take a break i guess? i did get lots of great shots of cocktail hour in our video though, so that made up for it.

I wanted my aunt to have a nice picture of her and my uncle and their kids together and a pic of me and my aunt together (we are very close)

My sister is getting married in Oct, so she is going to make sure that my aunt gets her family pic then and I will get in a pic with my aunt also

No pics of:

Mom walking down the aisle
IL's walking down the aisle
Me with SIL alone
DH and I with BIL and SIL
DH and I with my sisters and BIL and SIL
Only me with the GM's
Only DH with the BM's

I also didn't give a must-take list, so I guess it's my fault. Those are the only ones I can really remember. Originally I was also missing ones of my invite with the wedding bands, but they found it

Same for me! And thats why I wont write a review.

I had 3 photographers and even then they missed some pics. I have to say that I truly love each one of my photographers though... and I think it was just an oversight. Maybe one thought the other got the shot?
They are all amazing photographers and I do 100% love my pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have 10 pictures of my Grandfather giving me away but its all taken from our backs. Not one of them got a front shot of this, my Grandfather giving me away.
(the camera you see in the shot is my video guy, which is a whole other story).

No pics of our rings alone. We have one where they are on our fingers.

No table shots at all.

I don't have a full bridal party shot. The little kids are missing in all the formals.

I don't have any pics with my RBs or flower girl.

I'm missing a lot of family shots. Aunts, Uncles, etc.

Let me say that I don't think this is 100% the photographers fault. My day turned into a full on disaster because my POS DOC decided not to show up and send his snotty assistant, who did absolutely nothing. We were so far behind on time. Things were happening at my RH, which was not their fault at all. They fixed it before they even called me! And I love them for that!
LOL I could rant forever!
Point is... Try not to stress it too much. Make a must take list and hire a DOC you really feel will go above and beyond to make you happy.

Re: Pictures missed at your wedding?

i don't have any table shots, but i wasn't really upset about that. i think i'm pretty happy overall. i had one 'dream shot' that i really wanted to re-create, and it came out like sh*t. that's probably the only thing that i was genuinely annoyed about because i was VERY specific about this picture.

one thing that was really important to me was getting pictures of me and my mom. every single important event of my life, i don't have ANY pictures of just me and my mom--she either tells me to delete the pictures or includes other people in them. i told my photog that even if she feels like she already asked my mom and i to take a picture together a million times, to still keep asking. i was very happy she listened to this .
