Hi everyone!! I am new to all of this and need to look for a Catholic church around the island to get married in. My wonderful church is going through renovations and I am looking for another location. I found a GORGEOUS church in manhattan, Our Lady of Good Counsel... WOW - but it's so far. I have family closer to queens and manhattan so it may not be a bad choice, but the prices out there make me want to cry. Does anyone know of any beautiful churches here on Long Island???

I'm getting married at Holy Name of Mary in Valley Stream. It has the longest aisle in all the Catholic churches in western Nassau.....130 feet!

I think ultimately it will be your preference, but I can suggest a few to at least go and see, and they're all pretty close to each other.
My church is Our Lady of Peace, in Lynbrook. I'm going to be partial to this church, b/c it's my own.
St. Raymonds's in East Rockaway is very nice.
St. Agnes in Rockville Centre is nice too.
St. Christopher's in Baldwin is where my brother got married, it has a very long aisle, and I loved it.
This church is a little on the small side, but I like it, Blessed Sacrament in Valley Stream. I remember the pews being white in this church.
I can't think of any others I have been too that I can remember exactly what they look like, but hope this helps , and they're not far from Queens.

I am getting married at St Rose of Lima in Massapequa...It has the second longest Aisle in Nassau (135 feet) and has beautiful stained glass windows all along the sides of the church

I am getting married at Saint Raymond's in East Rockaway. It is BEAUTIFUL on the inside and out. it was in the running to be the diocese of Long Island (but lost out to St. Agnes) so it is a cathedral style church.
Some churches don't allow you to get married if you're not a parishoner though, so just keep this in mind.

I am getting married at St. Patrick's in Huntington...it might be a bit far for you - but the church is gorgeous! It is a bright church with extremely high celings and beautiful stained glass windows. Also - can't think of the name of the parish - but I have been to mass a few times at the Catholic church in Garden City - a beautiful church also...

Check out St.Agnes Cathedral in Rockville Centre www.stagnescathedral.org Beautful, like a mini St. Patricks in NYC

I'm getting married at St. Raphael's in East Meadow. They just built a new church a few years ago. Its really really pretty.

wow! so many churches to choose from!! i like st.agnes alot and a couple of other churches are beautiful as well. i still havent found one out here in LI that took my breath away as much as Our Lady of Good Counsel in NYC did.
i think i will still keep this church in mind while i search for something here in LI. if anything, then i will just get a permission letter from my parish to marry in manhattan.
