Pillar or floating candles CP

Originally I was planning to use flower CP, but I am leaning towards a romantic candlelight ambiance.

As a test I did these two to see which one I like. I like both, FH likes the floating candles better.

FYI..table cloth will most likely be white

I like the pillar candles better. They also may burn longer than the floating candles.

I like both but from my PERSONAL EXPERIENCE (and I have the scar to prove it) after the floating candles were lit for a while and blown out and I picked up the bowl to move it it BROKE in my hand and cut my finger!!! It wasn't a cheap bowl either- it was one of the ones from michaels. So now we're doing floral wreaths w/ hurricane lamps and pillar candles in the middle. JMO I'd go w/ the pillar candles for that reason- plus they're easier to take home (if ppl are) b/c there's no water involved.

Thanks for the warning...I actually did get them from Michael's. I was also thinking that the water might get messy

I could also people getting dorky and pitching things in the bowl

I agree. I use floating candles a lot in the house and they don't last too long. I would be worried about them burning out. Picture 1 is beautiful though!

I voted for the pillar CP. I like the look better. I can't tell from the pic but are they on a tray or some kind of base?

Great idea! Where did you get the mirror and pillar candles? FH and I are thinking about skipping floral centerpieces (so expensive) and doing some type of candle centerpiece. I went to Michaels a few weeks back and picked up 100 of those votive holders. Now I just have to figure out what to do with them...

I liked the floating candles too, but we thought about the water mess and the time to set up....I'd choose the pillars....I think it's a classier look and easier to handle in the end.

Both from Michael's - the mirrors in a box of 4 for $7 and the pillars were $1.50 (tallest) and $1 (other two).

Wow, that's great!! Really cuts down on the cost of centerpieces. Everyone I've spoken to said that if they could have cut one thing from their wedding and saved the money, it would have been the centerpieces.
