So, I am going to the doctor to ask for some sort of pills so that I dont freak out on the plane.... I start to get anxiety and short of breath because I am so scared.... I want something that will make me be okay- but not something that is going to make me pass out for hours.
What pill do you recommend I ask for?

DH and I usually take two dramamine when they're boarding and sleep the entire time.

xanax is a pretty hard core pill. You might want to start with something like dramamine that will liekly make you tired and you will just fall asleep.

Thanks ladies!!! I've never taken a xanax before and didnt want to like get high off of it lol
I just dont want to be high as a kite on my family vacation next month lol

So, do you guys think I am going to pass out? The flight is 5 hrs.... I just dont want to be moody when i get off the plane lol Do you experience this after coming down from xanax?

I take it to get on a plane and actually my doc gave me some to have when I freak out while planning the wedding LOL
You can always take half about 30-40 mins prior to boarding the plane to see how it makes you feel... If it doesn't work you take the other half.. I'll help alot!!!!

xanax is hard core when it is in high dosages. The dosages that are often recommended for this sort of anxiety can be quite low. I have had to take .25 milligrams for anxiety and i am fully able to function. If the doc prescribes xanax make sure its a low dose and that it is NOT time released!

Also... You'll be fine after you get off.. The pill would have worn off by then and you'll feel fine.

Yea, thats exactly what I want.... I want to be able to function- and if I sleep for half hour...fine.... but if Im like knocked out for hours and wake up cranky and woosy, I am going to be annoyed because I dont want to be in a bad mood... I want to enjoy it all lol
So xanax has an immediate effect?
Would you guys recommend that I take it a couple of days before the trip so that I see how I feel?

xanax is to take for immediate relief (well yo uknow what i mean by immediate.) it can;t hurt to try it before if you are really concerned. I really sometimes don't even notice a difference when I have had to take it!

,25 which is very low will deff help.. Your doc will probally advise you to try it before you actually fly to see how it effects you.
My doc told me to take half then the other half. I was fine the whole time. I could function and everything. Speak with your doctor

my fiance is a Dr and i am terrible on planes. His advice for me was to take the .25 mg of xanax along with 25-50mg of benadryl. I tell you the combo is amazing bc not only am i relaxed from the xanax but the benaryl makes me nice and sleepy

Oh thats great!!!! I normally take benadryl only at night when my allergies are bothering me so that I can go right to bed lol Thanks girls
